I'm using Harry's Laptimer IPhone App. It uses the phones HD video capture ability as well as the GPS and accelerometer to display the left side. The right side which is gear selection, throttle and RPM is the App communicating with my Kiwi Wifi OBD II adapter. Without it you just get the left side data. APP is $20 and Kiwi is $149.

Very nice! I'm going to look into that app/OBDII adapter, as well.

Definitely worth the $$. With the OBDII adapter you can also get the iPhone Dashcommand App, check out their website.

Wow, for $20 that is a must-have for my first track day. I already have a great mount for my iPhone, using just the sunglasses visor clip and the app has my track (Lime Rock). Thanks for the info!

The data on the left is the App alone. If you want the data on the right (throttle, gear &RPM) you need a OBD II adapter like the Kiwi wifi. You could also add the Emprum GPS to boost accuracy.

Thank you for the info on Harry's Laptimer IPhone App. I have the iPhone windshield mount, so if Harry has my track (Spring Mountain Motorsports), then I'm in!

One thing at a time...I still need a helmet! And Ive got TrackApps for data, though that wouldnt be displayed obviously, but there is a high probability that Ill want more down the road a bit, so again, thanks for the info.

Yes, it is, Alex. I e-mailed Harry's last night, they answered me this morning and they said 'yes' Spring Mountain is pre-loaded, so I will be getting that App. I won't be getting the extra WiFi adapter stuff for the right-hand-side. Thank you for writing about the product. And your video is great. Question - did you go with Harry's Standard or Professional?

Professional is the best and it's only a few extra bucks. Good luck with it.

This app is a must for anyone tracking that doesn't want to spend hundreds on a box type unit.

Hey Alex, how does the App take into consideration 'discovery laps' and 'cool-down laps'? And not count those as real?

It gives you a time and video overlay for each lap in the session. It stores them in order so you know which is which. The app records the full session then lists every lap seperatly. You then pick which laps you want overlayed. You could always ignore the first and cool down lap.

Only con is that if you have lots of crap on your phone you may not have enough memory for multiple sessions.

It all sounds good. After my track day, can I move all of the data to my PC, and get it off of my phone?
