MMD Hood Scoop

Does anyone know how to get a Hold of MMD? I called American Muscle and they where no help.

I have a 2014 v6 Mustang with the MMD Hood Scoop installed. The Threaded rod and nut came out of the scoop while driving. I called AM and they were going to send out a new Rod and Nut but when I told them it came on the car from the dealer they told me I have to buy another Scoop!!

Really.

Does anyone know the Threaded rod size?

Chances are it was either srripped or not tightened when installed. You can take one of the others out and measure it. If the one is stripped I would JB epoxy one in as it will not hold otherwise even with the proper thread size.

Thankx Dusman, I never thought of Using JB. I will have to remove the entire thing and see what happened. It just sucks that they where going to send the parts. Is MMD really American Muscle?

I don't see why you would have to remove the whole scoop. Just one of the other mounting studs/nuts.

Im going to try that this week. I cant believe there is no way to get a new one from MMD. Im hoping this will work.

Re your first post - I've said it before, and will say it again. Don't be surprised at the way that vendor treated you. Chalk it up as a lesson learned, and move on. Fool me once, shame on....you know how the rest goes.

Have you been having trouble with American Muscle? I've bought a few things from them and all went well. I made the mistake of buying their side marker black out kit, what junk!! But they took it back and refunded my money. I can't complain so far, but again, I'm kinda new

I dont want to turn this into a bashing thread but Damb they could at least answer me.

My son and I have 2 2014 Mustangs and its not looking good for future upgrades. it is really too bad.

JazzMan, did you get any results yet?

I've dealt with AM regarding MMD purchases we've made (wife and I have matching 14's) and they've bent over backwards to help me with replacement parts & fasteners (to the point of taking 120% loss on the sale & sending complete replacement kits free of charge). Excellent customer service by the forum rep. Alex Lazarus.

Perhaps he never received your PM. I've had that exact thing happen to me as well.

I don't think he would EVER avoid contact based on my numerous talks with him. You may not get the part you need for free since you're not their customer directly, but I don't believe he ignored you.

Try again... Sometimes it takes days to get an answer though. I PMed him once and it was several days because he was out of office for a while and couldn't check his messages.

Judging from his profile page @ AMAlexLazarus he hasn't been on this forum for nearly a month.

He's more active on AFM so if you are a member there, shoot him a PM from that site. You can also just call them up and request to speak with him.
