Just A Thought, Which would I Get Better Gains With?

I was looking at getting a one piece aluminum driveshaft, and although I will get one eventually, my question is if I should wait to get some other mods first that would give me better gains at the same price. So the other mods would be BBK ceramic short tuned headers, BBK after cat x pipe, and 4.10 gears. Before I have people go off why I m bothering ith shorties, its because I dont like the sound of LTs and this is my DD. what do I have currently? 2012 Gt Auto, with gt500 ABs, C&L cai and tune.

I would do a driveshaft over 4.10's in an auto any day of the week. The 4.10's will not be the best of choices.

How much of a difference does a DS make? Why not 4.10s? Would you say 3.73s are a better choice over 4.10s?

Actually 3.31's are the optimum gear for the autos. But the stock 3.15's work very well. You should be able to roast your tires the first three gears already with a good tune and the 3.15's.

What are you goals? I'll be the first to ask and let others take over after that

Well at this point I m happy with the exterior for now. The very next thing I want are staggered 18" with some nitto nt555s for better traction because right now my launches are just burning tires. After that I would like a deeper growl from my gt500 ABs, a x pipe and/or resonator deletes should do it. Finally, a little more power.

Suggestions?

I wouldn't even bother with shorties. Off road x or h pipe and a set of drag radials will get you best bang for the buck IMO.

I was thinking of getting Nitto NT555s, would Street Radials make much more of a difference? Also whats the difference between the off road x pipe and a after cat x pipe? I was thinking of getting a BBK after cat x pipe, do you all recommend a different choice?

Off road eliminates the cats. Are you going to drag race your car? If so, the drag radials would be a good choice. If not, then a good sticky street tire would be optimal.

I would like to eventually take out to the track but not to the point were its going to be a drag car, it is my DD. So besides eliminating the cats and being probably louder, is there a difference in gains? Not that it gives much anyways

A good aftermarket stall converter will yield more entertainment on the street and strip than the other mods you've mentioned.

I have staggered Nt555s. They don't get traction any better than stock pirellis. If you want traction, Get DRs.

I bought a big stall converter for my '07 Mustang GT for $460 and paid $250 for my local Ford Dealer to install it. Converter was brand new. So, total cost was $710 and the car was instantly entertaining to drive and my ET's at the drag strip improved by 3 tenths without tuning! ET's drop even more with tuning; 5-7 tenths.

My '11 GT is a manual, so I haven't priced converters for the 6R80.

Good to know. I always seen them priced much higher then that.
