I put a set of Redlines on two weeks ago. Nice to get rid of the prop bar.

I concur. If it's easy for me to install, anyone can throw these bad boys on! Redline Tuning Quicklift Elite Hood and Trunk Elite struts over here... wanted the polished stainless steel look for both front & rear. Excellent quality.

How much do they weigh? How much does the prop rod weigh?

These things add up!

Just from handling them both during install and removal, if there is any difference, I'd say it was negligible. It would be like taking your car to the track and worrying if you're going to run a slower E.T. because you have some change in your pocket.

I think if you remove the bolt and speed nut instead of putting it back in as the Video from CJ's says, the Hood Struts weigh less
I have the same ones, love them

Had the CDC's on my 2010, ordered the Redlines painted Sterling Gray to match my '13!
Much easier to install to, and no need to worry about your hood getting out of alignment!

Is it possible for one person to do these or is a second person needed to stabalize the hood?

I want to do this mod, but currently am lacking in help at the moment.

Redline hoodstruts are super easy to install. Self-explanatory and no drilling like the older models.

once you get 1 strut in, it holds the hood by itself...

Weighed them today, in the tube packaging they're right at 1.35lbs which is actually lighter than the hood prop which I beleive weighed in right around 2lbs.

I want to add them, just been too lazy lately. I only pop the hood to change the oil usually anyway.

"It would be like taking your car to the track and worrying if you're going to run a slower E.T. because you have some change in your pocket."
I just weighed my pocket change: 1.75 pounds.

"Weighed them today, in the tube packaging they're right at 1.35lbs which is actually lighter than the hood prop which I beleive weighed in right around 2lbs."
Well, now, there's some good scientific evidence.

You realize this is a joke, right?

Just put some on our Boss, have a bunch now in stock. Let us know if anyone is looking for any!! Great upgrade to the hoodprop and cosmetically pleasing.

Makes you wonder why Ford does not have a strut installed from the factory. I have CPC-NXT, painted to match, from CJPP. I love 'em. Very easy install, do not need a second person. Color match is 99%.
