Helmholtz Resonator?

Anyone design/make one of these? Please post some details and pics, if you can.

From what little I know about this is, you won't be finding one used on Mustangs

From what I've read on how you have for your exhaust setup. You are experiencing what we call 'drone'. Only way around it is to install quieter axle back mufflers or (and) add resonators. Resonators can be bought from Magnaflow or most local muffler shops sell them. Good luck

You do not know what I'm talking about then. The Helmhoktz is a quarter wave resonator. They are specifically designed to eliminate specific frequencies, like drone.

They are a closed end tube, that causes an echo effect, using the pressure wave to break itself up at a specific frequency. Each one is different, depending on the targeted frequency.

Thats kinda the thing. Nobody really commercially makes them. Lots of variables. One place makes pre-made j pipes of various lengths, but they are like $75 each. Only game in town kind of thing...

I just have a question I need answered before I turn a fabricator loose on mine.

Wrong!!! Solo Performance Inc. is a performance exhaust company that manufactures complete exhaust systems for the 2011-present Mustangs that feature integrated J-pipes which cancel out all frequencies that produce interior resonance drone. Here's the Solo Performance links provided below.

Wrong!

Clearly I state that I just want the J. Not a full exhaust. Several companies use the tech in systems and even inside premium mufflers.

You stated in your original post that you were seeking info regarding companies that design/manufacture Helmholtz resonators/J-pipes. Therefore the info you requested was provided. However, if you have no interest in a full exhaust system that includes such a design? then perhaps your description should had been more specific in the first place. For what it's worth, Solo Performance does offer custom made J-pipes without requiring the purchase of one of their full exhaust systems. That being said, the only other manufacturer that I'm aware of that offers pre-made J-pipes of various lengths, is from Synapse Engineering.

Guys. Its like if I asked a question about a carburetor, and someone posted a link to a 57 Chevy. Yes, they do have/include a carburetor...

But in the end I asked if anyone made or designed a specific part of an exhaust. I also asked for details or pics.

I would like to thank the person responsible for the attached photos, as these are exactly what I asked for.

Perhaps you should've thought about searching the sub-forums prior to submitting a new thread, to begin with in the first place, Newbie. Needless to say, you can make up all the excuses in the world for trying to convince yourself that it was somebody else's fault for misinterpreting your post, but in reality, you know full well you were provided with the info as requested according to your description. Therefore, you have nobody else to blame, but yourself. As for the person you would like to thank responsible for the attached photos? FYI: I was also a participant in that thread. Anyhow, once again, If you had bothered to use the search function prior to submitting a new thread in the first place? you would've came across both the photos and requested info much sooner lol. That being said, your post request stated:

Therefore you were provided with the info as requested from 2 different sources that do in fact design and manufacture J-pipe resonators. Enough said!

Also FYI: the attached photo's you posted were submitted in another thread by one of our forum members in which he had custom J-pipes fabricated for him by his local exhaust shop. In addition, he was also going to consider looking into Solo Performance custom fabricate a pair of adjustable J-pipes as a permanent solution for his particular application. Therefore that was also another reason for providing you with info from Solo Performance, to begin with, as I thought you might have found the info provided as useful. But apparently it wasn't, just as the video link provided from Synapse Engineering wasn't acceptable enough to your liking either lol.

Hate to dig up an old Thread. I ran across a new Magnaflow catback exhaust called XMod catback system. I think it cost $3,000 for 2018 and up 5.0L Mustangs. It has a J-pipe but they call it something else. If this link works you'll see it in the video, if not search Magnaflow XMod catback system.
