Exhaust, need advice...

There's a guy where I live that just bought a 11 GT500. It's an awesome ride. But he wants to add Flows to it. I have them on my 5.0. I love, love, love the sound of my exhaust! Might have just answered my own question? What diff would there be in trading with him? I am just not sure if worth it. What do you think? Thanks!!

So you are curious about what the stock GT500 cans sound like? Versus your flows? No comparison. Stick with your flows IMO.

I have the GT500 exhaust and to be honest i like the sound but i would like to hear the Hushpowers on my car. But i got the GT500 exhaust because the guy selling was local and it was a fantastic deal. If not for that i would have gotten the Flowmasters.

But to get to my point, if you LOVE the sound, stick with it. You may not like the GT500 sound. Then you spent that money for nothing.

I just have had great luck with 40 Series Flows. This makes my 4th ride they've been on. Yep, I wouldn't change anything on my sound now. I knew what I would do, just wanted to hear from others. Thanks!

I don't want mine crazy loud. I want to keep it quiet when cruising. And I don't want it too loud when just accelerating normally. That said, I want to hear it when on the gas. I just don't want that loud noise when in 5th or 6th and give it some gas and only hear noise and not the individual pulses. The stock is too quiet. You can't hear it from outside even when a car is getting on it from more than 20 feet away. I just want a deeper just barely louder sound that still sounds like a v8, not an airplane engine that just hums. I get that flying the cessna and it's annoying enough.

That's just it. I want mine loud loud! Not rice burner sound, just good ole Amer muscle car loud!! When warranty runs out I will have cats gutted & prob resonators removed? Was going to buy tuner to give it fake cam sound. From what I've read, prob not? Just don't want to mess up my car!

If you want loud, just do straight pipe all the way from the cats. I got mine that way and love it!

My buddy w/08 kinda has that done. Bought Pypes straight-through mufflers, maybe? Made his sound that sound I don't care for mine. Heard a SLP muff delete clip I really liked! Just don't have $ for it. Have a clip of yours?

Could I just have them removed to test the sound? I might do this. If OK, I can sell to him? Thanks!!

Cost would be the issue I'd say, what is your exhaust worth to you? You can pick up a new set of OEM GT500 mufflers for yor car for like 300-350. That's what I have and it sound great but other mufflers go for 600+

The real question is how much you value your hard earned dollar?

Decided to just remove my Flows tom. If I like that sound with running no mufflers, I'll sell them to that GT500 owner. If not, they'll stay on.

Nipped, rained all day today. For prob an hour, tornado could've dropped? He said too wet to do stuff today. He said come back in the morning. I never have anything I have to do, so I said I'll be there. Grandma now tells me I promised to be somewhere by 12 tom. I might go to muffler shop little earlier, if he can get it done in time I will. If can't, do this later? It'll get done, just not sure when?

If this sounds good, Bobby, my mech said he could just put stock tips back on those straight pipes. Where can I find new exhaust tips? I really like my 4" w/rolled edge!! I found some @ summitracing & autoanything. That's about all I knew where to look. 1st tried Amer Muscle, 50resto, type places. None!! Thanks!!

Hawaii, I don't even come close to using what I have. That won't matter to me. Didn't realize that, though. Hang on, does this mean from stock #'s? Still doesn't mean, just wondered.

Sorry, I thought this was a statement & not a question.

It was a lil bit of both (statement and ques.) but yea from stock numbers. I remember cuz my buddy took off his mufflers and lost like 10-15 hp and 10lb ft. I dont rlly know why it drops but we just noticed that trend. Sounded mean though
