Which CAI to get

Which CAI to get
I guess this topic has been beat to death, and as I new comer I'm sorry to bring it up again.. But what is the best bang for the buck for CAI on a 2011 GT 5.0 ?
I do want something flashy under the hood..
I don't mind (or prefer to do a tune)
So far I like the Steeda, BBK and JLT.
I am planing on eventually doing the Boss 302 intake manifold and would like a CAI that works with both...
Thoughts and opinions PLEASE...

I was going to go with the Steeda, but after reading all of the comparisons, they all apparently get the same results with a tune, give or take a couple hp. For me, I went with the JLT. My reason was price, if they all do about the same, I'd rather save the $100 for something else. I picked it up from CJPP for $269 shipped during their last sale. I didn't mind the plastic look because it actually blends in under the hood. If you want flashy, then Steeda is the way to go because that just looks awesome under the hood. Also, JLT has painted and CF ones that looks good as well.

Does anyone know if any of these are compatible with the Boss intake ?
I'd really hate to put out the money, then do the intake mod and have to buy another one..

Not true. AFE just came out with one that uses air from the OEM intake. I have it on my car, it's pretty nice. ![Big Grin](https://themustangsource.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

Yup, thats what it says. Would have been funny if I wasn't so mad at the time lol. Went and turned him in for illegally pulling me over, the dash cam was on and had all the proof!

Just got this back from BBK..
We've tested this CAI on the new Boss302 and it fit, it was tight but it fit with out hitting anything. We haven't been able to test it with the Boss intake on a factory 5.0L but i'm pretty sure it will still work for you.

If you are not considering a tune I know that the Airaid (American Muscle) has an insert that will allow you to use the CAI without a tune. If you tune it down the road then you remove the insert. DO NOT try to run the car without the insert and no tune, when it does run (albeit very badly) you will damage the engine as the FAM will be so lean.
I use the Airaid, both with and without a tune and it was a noticable difference in economy and engine performance.
Not sure if the others out there offer an insert for non tuned cars you may want to check first before buying.

Before you purchase the BBK one, look into JLT. My personal choice is the carbon fiber model. You say you're going to install the Boss manifold. JLT offers a coupler with the intake kit that fits the Boss intake. The carbon fiber looks great and weighs less naturally.

Steeda has all 3 for sale on their website as a package. They sell the CAI/Tune and Boss intake together, so you know they will all work together. I saw this earlier this week when I was just messing around on their site.
Either way you are going to have a bad a$$ stang
