BOSS Intake installation
I am to understand that I will need to get a few parts to install my BOSS Intake Mani. To all the people who already have done this, where did you get the below parts and how much are they? cause on the Ford site it all prices out to over $300. please note that my options to order these are limited to online purchases as I do not reside in the continental US.
Ford Service Part # : CR3Z-9G297-A, Hose (1 pc.) Ford Service Part # : CR3Z-9G290-B, Bracket (1 pc.) Ford Service Part # : CR3Z-9J280-A, Fuel Lines (1 pc.) Ford Service Part # : W506974-S437, Screw M6x16mm (1 pc.) Ford Service Part # : CR3Z-9B659-B, Air Inlet Tube (1 pc.) |
forgive me for being an idiot, but that last item, the Air Inlet Tube, that's the part that goes from the air filter to the manifold right? cause then i wont have to buy that since I'm getting the Steeda CAI.

You are correct; you don't need the Air Inlet Tube unless you're keeping the stock air box.
The other parts price out at around $155 from Varsity Ford or Tousley. When I did mine, I used the "short length of PCV hose and two clamps" method. Because I wasn't totally happy with the way the OEM purge line was tensioned with the purge valve screwed to the engine block, I fabricated a couple of simple brass brackets that hold the purge valve up about 2" above the block in the space below the throttle body. There's no tension on the OEM purge line and it works like a charm. |
Sweet, thanks for the info. Great advice :)

The part that's not on the list that you probably want is AR3Z-16A200-A. This is the high-clearance strut tower brace that clears the Boss manifold. About $125 from Tousley. |
