AC at WOT - Does it shut off?

Anyone know if the compressor shuts off or de-clutches (if that's a word) when going wot? I believe on some cars the ac turns off when accelerating hard but I'm not sure if that's true with our cars. Whenever I go hard thru the gears I try to remember to shut off the ac but sometimes I forget. Just wondering if it's necessary.

Looking at the calibration it looks like the A/C is not commanded to be disabled at WOT on the 2013 Mustang.

Mine sure feels like it shuts off at WOT. It gets hot inside the car pretty fast.

Same here. It feels like the A/C stops working but vent air is coming thru the vents

Not sure but I think so.
My question would be if it did not turn off how much power would that really take up?

I definitely notice a difference in air temp out of the vents at WOT......try it on an on ramp on your way to/from work on a hot, humid day before your car is fully cooled down inside. You can feel the cold air disappear and hot humid air blow out the vents until you let off WOT then the cool air comes right back. Once the system and air ducting is all cooled down, it's probably not as noticeable for brief WOT runs.

For real!

WOT checklist
1. Seat warmer on
2. A/C on full blast
3. iPod playing thru sync
4. Navigation set to destination
5. Cold drink in cup holder

You might as well get up to 120 and just set the cruise control while your at it.

As I noted in my original post, I don't do it purposely - it I think about it before I get on it, I turn off the AC but sometimes I nail it on the spur of the moment and forget it's on.

Well for me it's 95 degrees at 6am and heads as high as the 120's by the afternoon. If it turns itself off during WOT fine, if not oh we'll.
