2014 GT Track Pack BBW Wheels and Tires

This may sound dumb, but I just want to make sure before I drop $2k on wheels. At what point do you need beadlocks.

I’m in the planning stages for my 2014 GT Track Pack. It will be Bagged, Boosted, and Widebodied(+50mm to all 4 corners). It will be making about 700-800HP max. With the widebody I can run MAX a 20x12 wheel in the rear. I’m wanting to be a little conservative and give it about an inch in the rear and run a 18x11. The car will be daily driven for a little bit until i can buy another daily car.

I want to know if I can use non-Beadlock Forgestar F14 18x11 +30 offset rears with 315/40R18 Nitto NT555s. I will be racing down in Mexico. Can I get away with no beadlocks as long as I don’t air down my tires, or will I have to use beadlocks, I don’t know at what point you need beadlocks.

I’d rather not have wheels custom made because I don’t want to drop $10k for custom forged wheels, and Forgestar doesnt make any beadlock wheels bigger than 17x10 +50 offset for s197 mustangs(that I’ve seen at least). Which is great if your car isn’t widebodied. I could use the S550 version with is 17x10 +40 offset. But I will still have a major gap of almost an inch and a half between the tire and the fender. I don’t want to use wheel spacers either.

Also with it being widebodied, how much offset should I run. I’ve been doing wheel and tire calculators and the measurements above seem like they will work and give enough space to air out. But I want some advice before I go through with everything.

Welcome to the forums!

Regarding beadlocks, the thing to do is draw a line on the tire and the rim with something that'll not wear off unless you want it gone. May need two different methods, paint on the tire, tape on the rim. Make a line on each that's lined up. Run your drags. Watch the lines. If the tires spin on the rim, then you need beadlocks, you're torqueing the tires around. Until you do that, no need. I'm bettin' you're gonna maybe get that tire/rim spin happen though.

The rest... someone else will have to come in and have a chat, I just don't know enough about all that stuff. I still hope that helped and good luck on your fun mods! :nice:
