Lightbulb 13 GT Decklid panel

Can't stand the gloss of my 13 deck lid panel, also shows a TON of dust & very hard to clean without leaving tiny scratches and streaks. I checked American Muscle & I don't like any of them. Any suggestions & pics of yours ? Maybe carbon fiber ? Help !! Thanks, Scott

I still love it.

And a pic with the car dirty in case you wanted to see what the back-end looks like when it's dirty, lol.

I'm sorry to hear we didn't have any deck lid panels that interest you. What type of Deck Lid panel are you looking for? I'll let me New Products team know and see if we can bring some of these options in!

Best of luck on your search, let me know if you have any questions or need some assistance!

I'd like the rtf panel if it didn't have the logo. How hard is the panel to install?

I'd love the carbon fiber look panel IF it had the logo. The plasti dip looks really nice also but the carbon fiber with the stock logo would be what I'd buy if I could find one. Scott

I wanted to get my stock panel wrapped in reflective carbon Kevlar but can't figure out how to get the stock one off.

They are held on by several tabs. CJ has a video or you can search eBay for a pic reference.

That's a GREAT idea.........that's just what I'm going to do. Thanks ! Scott

Next mods MGW shifter, upgrade that horrid 500 Shaker system, some kind of BAMA tune CAI setup (after I get a few thousand miles on her). Next year on to suspension.

I may have bitten off more than I can chew but, I took my OEM deck lid panel to the local body shop today. I expected to get it painted Race Red to match the car, then install painted tail light trim pieces of the same color. To my surprise, the glossy black OEM panel is coated with a tough scratch resistant substance of some kind. My body man tried to prep it for paint by scuffing it with ScotchBrite, which wouldn't touch it, then 800 grit, which would touch it, then 400 grit that turned out the same. Finally, he tried 320 grit to break through the coating, but it will take some time to get it all scuffed. I'll have to wait until Monday for a paint specialist to evaluate it and recommend a paint system that won't later peel, while standing up to a paint guarantee. Geez, nothing is simple nowadays. Why the hell did Ford coat this butt ugly panel with such a tough material?

I like some of the changes folks have made to their stock panels, but I really like the look of the stock piece.

I don't know but, I'll do my best to relay as much paint information as I can next week. I'm determined to get my OEM panel painted red. My body man assures me he can make paint stick to it. I'll know how on Monday.

Hello Hoss!! It'll be fine. I wish I could find a flat rear panel without the fake gas cap. Lola Mae has certainly changed, did u stripe her yet?

Sounds like all you need to do to scuff if up is attempt to wipe it down with a soft microfiber towel
