Tire Size

This may be in the wrong area on the forums but I figured i would check with the 2010 owners to see if they have an answer. I have the base 18in wheels on my mustang and I am looking at getting new tires, I was wondering if anyone has run a slightly wider tire on the 18in wheel maybe a 245. I figured I would check to see if anyone has done this or if you guys know if I can. Thanks for any help you guys can give me.

Your stockers are 235/50/18s. Granted we're keeping the same rims? which are 18x9.

You should be able to run 255/45/18 on all 4 without issues. There's a few I know of that run them this size. Overall you'll gain just over 3/4" of tire width on each corner- so an extra 1.5 inches of more contact.

Thanks for the info 2010MustangGT, I have the base wheels acctauly which are 18x8 So that is why I was wondering how large I can go, If I can run 255/45/18 safely that is what I will do.

You can run a 255/45/18 all the way around with no problems! Here are a few options:

255/45/18 Mustang Tires at AmericanMuscle.com - Free Same-Day Shipping!

The biggest thing is making sure that your speedometer is recalibrated, and that might mean you have to take a look into custom tuning the car or seeing if the dealership is willing to do it for you.

We've had people order tuners from us and request only 1 tune that changes nothing but tire size or gear ratio to correct the speedometer. That's an option, as well.

Hit me up if you have absolutely any questions, whatsoever! Good luck!
