Milling current heads vs buying new ones?

I have a 10 gt. just wondering because I really
Lost when it comes to the subject. Would it be better to take mine to a machine shop and have them mill them or just buy new ones already done? Pros and cons of each if possible. Thanks!

Why? Yours won't seal? Is your head warped? I'd get new for warp. But if you're just looking for higher compression and HP don't bother it is waste.

Ya nothing are wrong with mine now, am

Getting cams this week and doing my heads were next. Only reason is for hp. You say not worth it? Y and what would u do instead

Absolutely a waste of money. You can get 200 hp for $3500 you're not getting anywhere close to that staying naturally aspirated.

Supercharger is the end goal. Isn't it true your supercharger performs better and is better all around to have upgraded heads and cams as well as a supercharger/turbo

Why waste the money when SC can get you what you want? Lower compression engines are easier to tune for when Supercharging and your enigne is already way higher compression that SC engines of just a few years ago. Most tuners don't know how to get the most from the standard cam let alone a high performance cam.

What is your goal? How much do you want to spend? My 2010 make 450 RWHP and cost $3500. My buddies 07 GT puts out 650 RWHP and cost $20,000. My car is a better driver. His car is certainly faster but it is pretty ridiculous for anything other than burning the tires off if that is what you want well that's what you have to spend.

my end goal is a daily/weekend driver that is high 11- low 12s. was going to do cams heads then supercharger. or maybe cams then supercharger. new to it all, was also looking into putting the gt500 supercharger on my 10gt or the ford racing one.

also what do u have done to yours to make that hp? what supercharger and suspension and tire upgrades. my research shows that i will need new drive shaft and clutch and tires would help

I have read that cams and sc don't mix as well as people had hoped when they did it.

So what is a realistic number for me to put the supercharger on my car 100%.

908ssp 11/3/12 04:47 PM

$3500 to $4000
