Bought 2010 with 3900 mi.
Yes, I traded my excellent 06 on a 10 with only 3900mi. Mainly I wanted to get back into a stick shift from auto, plus it is grabber blue, which I love. I have some questions if you don't mind. What axle back would give it more sound with little or no drone? I have an SCT tuner that was used for my 06 auto for a custom dyno tune. Would it work on the 10? Does the 10 benefit much from a tune?

Borla. Best sound and no drone IMO. Gives it the perfect mustang throatiness
Oh yeah post pics! |

exhaust systems are largely subjective. What you may think is loud my not be to me and visa versa,. The tuner will only work on 06 and has to be reloaded for the 10's VIN

I'll try to post a picture even though I am a 60 yr. old technical Ludite. It came with white stripes on it already, also a plus.

"IF" the tuner was "de-mated" from the '06 it will work to load tunes onto the '10, but it must have new tunes written specifically for the '10. If it was not "de-mated" you can still do it, but it'll cost you some money to get it cleared by SCT. |
Thanks, I knew it would need different tunes but didn't know if the device itself could be used on a different car.

Any opinion on what benefit I would get from a tune? I know the 10 came with a more aggressive tune from the factory. My 06 got 25hp from a Dino tune plus cai, but I am thinking the 10 would get less.

I got 60hp gain from cai under pulley header with high flow cats and a 93 octane tune

From my 2010

Impressive, thanks

I did a similar thing with my SCT for my 2010 when I got my 2013. I assume you traded at a dealership , so you should be able to reset the 06 to stock if you haven't aii ready. |
The only problem would be that it wouldn't run good with the original tune due to the cai. It is a JLT that requires a tune. It's gone now anyway but thanks.

The only down side is they are espensive, hard to find for less than $600 for a pair. Be aware, the 2010 needs longer tips on the exhaust than the 2005-2009, due to the new lower facia aka "diaper" . . . don't be fooled by attractive prices on 2005-2009 mufflers, the tips will be too short. |
Thanks, I had an FRPP on my 06, was not aware of that issue on the 10.

Did my first mod, a Steeda shifter, so nice. I'm going to try to hold off on anything else for a while, seems to have pretty good sound already.
