5 speed owners what kinda shifter to go with

2010 owners what kind of short throw did you go with? I looked at the steeda tri-ax, roush and frpp shifters but i'm not too sure what to go with or who has the best product that makes a difference in shifting.

Any help is appreciated

Hurst. Love that cue-ball shifter:)

karman 1/24/11 03:40 PM

MGW

Good reputation for improved shifting.

How much of a difference did it make? I checked out their site and it says a 30% diff for stock, but what does that translate to....to you?

Flagstang 1/24/11 04:28 PM

it came on my shelby gt stock. I have had a few normal gt's(06,07,09,10) and its very short and very stiff. Its very clean and crisp.

I have had Hurst and MGW

I like the MGW much better

There was a similar thread on allfordmustangs and the concensus seemed to be the MGW; but I've read a lot of good comments on the Steeda also.

I can't figure out how those cue-ball shifters can be comfortable; do you guys actually shift with the ball in the palm or your hand with your hand flat across? That seems downright un-ergonomic; I like to hold my hand in a more natural up-and-down orientation, like reaching out to shake someone's hand, so I like the standard 400A shift knob better, and those slim/tall shifters seem like they'd fit even better.

Do you know what I mean; am I making any sense?

+1 steeda tri axe

Had a Hurst and now have MGW.

Definitely prefer the MGW.

What was the claimed percentage in change for the fiesta?

karman 1/27/11 04:08 PM

I agree

I didn't like cue balls back in the day and I don't like them now.
I know exactly what you mean.

anyone have a MGW on a 2010?

06GT 1/28/11 12:57 PM

MGW hands down.

fdjizm 1/28/11 01:09 PM

I'll be going to an MGW as well, and btw 2010 nothing changed in the tranny dept. so wouldn't be a difference they fit 05-10 mustangs.

Everett 1/28/11 01:50 PM

Steeda...I love it. But I hear the mgw is a great piece too

MyStang2010GB 1/28/11 02:48 PM

I'll be adding an MGW to mine in a few months

cdynaco 1/28/11 02:55 PM

I'm sticking with the Bullitt shifter. I love it.

MGW would be my 2nd choice because of its adjustability and quietness (or so I've read on forums).
