If that's the case it reminds me of alloy gray... As under certain lighting it can look black.

Monterey Grey looks like a cross between Tungsten and Alloy. It has a little of that purplish tinge that Tungsten had. Still a nice color though, IMO.

I loved Alloy on my 2007. On the new ones, though, I prefer the much-lighter Sterling Gray as it, IMO, provides a much better contrast with the blacked-out grille, rockers, etc.

Yeah, I worked at a few stores that mixed paint and it was pretty wild what mix colors went into some of the different paints.

I've got the same question, because this is the first I've heard of this and I think I finally decided on a color for my 2012, so I hope it isn't true. Can anyone else corroborate this?

TN won't reveal his sources (although he does work for a dealer, which must help). However, I don't care where his info comes from, I'm just glad he shares it with us

I'd love a return to Vapor Silver at some stage. One of the nicest greys/silvers on the S197

I hope not -- I think Sterling is dark enough as it is.

But, as long as we are talking Fiesta colors, I really want Blue Flame Metallic:
