Finally Done with my Mods - I Hope!

6 Attachment(s)
Well, I finally finished with my mods. The final touch was a pair or Roush Lower Foglamps. Now I can just enjoy my pony! I even let it relax in a pasture!!

Pilks 1/29/13 03:13 PM

Whoa they all work? Can we see a night picture. Still deciding if i like the lower fogs, they might be a bit too big for my taste. Maybe its the grill fogs that throw off the lowers. Looks cool though

bill0754 1/29/13 03:23 PM

I am waiting for some LED bulbs I ordered for the lowers. Roush sends them with reg bulbs, which are too yellow in comparison to the HIDS and LED factory Fogs. But as soon as I install the LED bulbs, I will get a night photo on here.

Studly_Studright 1/29/13 03:39 PM

Your car is very nicely done! I'd like to see it lowered though :P and some black out reflectors. Other than that it is perfection!

PJRManagement 1/29/13 03:48 PM

Looks great!

fdesalvo 1/29/13 05:11 PM

Nicely done! You're making me glad I ordered black! If that was mine, I'd likely tint the stock fogs to help blend them into the background and focus attention on the Roush's.

BRADGTCS 1/29/13 05:25 PM

Looks great but mods are seldom over. They are just fewer and they cost more LOL.

06blackvertstang 1/29/13 05:26 PM

Hold on a second while I pick my jaw up off the ground... Holy smokes that's nice

MyStang2010GB 1/29/13 05:47 PM

That is one sweet color combo. Tasteful mods as well

orpheus 1/29/13 05:53 PM

Your car is beautiful. It would be sweet if your top was the same color as the interior.

bill0754 1/29/13 06:02 PM

Thanks all! I am pretty much modded out! Not much left I can do now. I already cut everything that could be cut, from the holes for the light bar, to the rear bumper CA diffuser, the hood for the shaker, and the front bumper for the fogs. 6 months in, and I just want to enjoy it. I do have quite a bit of stainless steel and lighting under the hood, but that's for the shows only

There is always more. I have more I can do and people are suggesting more. I just have to be careful not to over do it.

Dfink114 1/29/13 06:17 PM

It's that a boss 302 grille? I love the look with the tri pony emblem

bill0754 1/29/13 06:20 PM

Yes, it is a Bos 302 grille. Fit perfectly...just cut the lower tabs that hold the fog light covers on the back, at it snaps right in with the factory fogs intact!

essque 1/29/13 06:20 PM

very nice! i was looking at those rims they look even better than i expected.

You didn't have to remove the bumper did you? Did you just pull off the factory grille?

bill0754 1/29/13 07:31 PM

Nope, just taped the bumper below the original grille to prevent scratched, then gave the GT grille a good pull. Then snapped the Boss grille in, after cutting the 2 tabs on the back lower part of the fog openings. They are only there to hold the removeable covers for the Boss

Looks awesome Bill. **** good!

96lasersnake 1/29/13 09:04 PM

Awesome car, the lower fogs look awesome. Maybe a bit overkill with 6 forward driving lights. The boss grille is a nice touch. Some springs soon?

bill0754 1/29/13 09:11 PM

With the streets around here, 6 may not be enough! A lot of these roads have no streetlamps. I have the lowers on a seperate switch, so I can pick and choose my lighting. Upper, lower, both or none.

I don't think I will lower it, as I had a Brembo 2011 GT, and it road like a truck compared to this. I like the lower look, but don't want to give up the ride comfort.

Ahh, I get that. Well the car looks great. I really like that interior.

eric n 1/29/13 10:55 PM

Best looking 2013 convertible I've seen. If it had been described to me, I would have said over the top. Seeing it... PERFECTION. enjoy!

Reminds of long, long ago when I had aircraft landing light behind the grill of my '69 Cougar. Lots of light means lots of speed at night when there's room to play.

GT/CS Guy 1/29/13 11:20 PM

Looks great!! Love it!!

Hani 1/30/13 12:37 AM

Car looks great!

How was the install of the Roush Lower Foglamps?

carfreak666 1/30/13 05:07 AM

I agree. Makes my convertible look **** near boring. New mods look great,

bill0754 1/30/13 05:26 AM

Thanks all!

The install of the Roush lower fogs was a royal pain. First the bumper comes off, and using a template, the holes are cut. The housings have an adhesive, then are clamshelled and screwed together. Behind the bumper itself, there is a bit of cutting to do as well, but Roush includes some rust inhibitor for the area after cutting. Once installed, I had purchased a new Harness with a switch to wire it up. Finding power was a bit of an issue, as I wanted to retain the factory lamps, but didn't want all 4 or nothing. All in all, I believe it was worth the extra effort. I only wish that Roush had included LED bulbs instead of the incadescent ones. But I found some on Ebay and they are on the way. As soon as they arrive, I will get some night photos posted.

Roller13 1/30/13 10:44 AM

Great looking Car!

Stevedotmil 1/30/13 11:08 AM

I hear that Roush splitter is pain too. Your car looks outstanding. Just the right amount of "Check me out". I love that color leather. I would've gotten that if I didn't want the Recaros so bad.

PaxtonShelby 1/30/13 11:12 AM

Same thing for me - I wish they offered Saddle Recaros!

Car looks great! Keep up the good work, because they are NEVER done!

Bluejoker 1/30/13 12:05 PM

SICK. Very well done sir! Looks Great.

bill0754 1/30/13 02:02 PM

Actually the Roush Spoiler isn't too bad, if your disregard thier instructions! It actually bolts up to 90% of the factory holes. Just 3 on each end, and I just used stainless steel screws.

I loved the Recaro seats too! Wish they did come in saddle...and in convertibles. But the stock seats are pretty comfy none the less.

SONICBOOST 1/30/13 02:26 PM

You're car is hot!!

Hani 1/30/13 10:09 PM

Thanks for the input on the foglights installation.

We definitely need night pics now!

bill0754 1/31/13 06:48 AM

Have the LED replacement bulbs on the way....so I will post a night photo as soon as I get them.

TheDivaDanielle 1/31/13 08:37 AM

Now I feel that it needs the roush spoiler (and obviously relocating the camera)

PaxtonShelby 2/3/13 04:53 PM

pcpctc520 2/3/13 05:20 PM

Just wondering if u could share the wire harness for the dual fog lights. Thanks.

bill0754 2/3/13 05:27 PM

It's not recommended because it will overload the fuse. Safer to just add a new harness. I bought mine on Ebay for $75

kcoTiger 2/3/13 11:43 PM

lol...uh...no. No, you're not through with mods. You may *think* you're through with mods, you may *want* to be through with mods, but you know good and well that the bug will be back. It might be the most innocent of glances through the web one day when you see something that ignites a fire long dormant, and you can't get it out of your head. Next day, it's still there. And the next day. Even if your wife threatens you with castration, you're *still* going to try and figure out a way to add that one extra mod. You know it's harder to resist than the Sirens' call.

By the way, looks really good. :D

bill0754 2/4/13 02:17 PM

I think I am done....still working on dressing the engine. However, I do have a Focus Hatch I can mod....hmmmm, wonder what I can do to it!! lol

Z.r.q Othman 2/5/13 05:18 AM

thanks ill check it out

bill0754 2/9/13 12:25 PM

Roush sells the kit for $389, but my dealer got if for me for $330. Install was $125 and I bought a 2nd harness on eBay for $75 so that I could keep the grille fogs.

racksteris 2/11/13 02:11 PM

Looks good man.

You know of any Mustang club in CF.

bill0754 2/11/13 08:30 PM

Yes, there is the Mid Florida Mustang Club. You may have to google it. If you go to Old Town in Kissimmee on a Friday night, grab a Cruise News magazine. It will tell you about clubs and cruise nights.

Roller13 2/12/13 05:46 PM

Man! I wish I hadn't seen those fogs on your car! Looks way to good!

Kool, Old Town is about 20min from me but I never go out there,LOL. I will have to take a ride out there..

bill0754 2/12/13 08:41 PM

Thanks! I think they look better than the 2 dummy vents.

Friday night is American Muscle Car night at Old Town, starts at 5pm and ends around 9. All Mustangs are welcome!! I don't go every Friday, but I get there once or twice a month. Say hi if you see me there!!

bill0754 2/15/13 12:03 PM

Well, just one more....

OK.....I did another mod...but this one is a necessity here in Florida. I had all the windows tinted. Looks great on a black car, and helps keep the heat out.

I am still working on the engine bay mods, but the exterior is completed!

I'd say to drop your car a little!

bill0754 2/15/13 08:45 PM

I would, but I don't want the harsh ride associated with lowering springs. I had a 2011 GT with the Brembo Package and it rode extremely rough.

SilverSkoundrel 2/15/13 08:49 PM

I like those rims :nice:

55D rear springs at least? And I'd tint the side marker lights too! :nice:

bill0754 2/20/13 06:47 PM

Would really ruin the ride for crusing. As for blacked out reflectors, they are illegal here in Florida.

Can never get enough modz. Keep on keepin on!

bill0754 2/23/13 08:07 PM

Always try, but black is always dusty 10 min after cleaning. So, I guess I am OCD as my friend sitting behind me keeps repeating!!
