And Kenseth's team didn't "violate the spirit" of any rules, they blatantly broke rules.

I find it interesting that TRD supposedly did not check the weight of the connecting rods before the Toyota engines were assembled. They assumed the connecting rods were of legal weight as supplied by the German manufacturer. What kind of engine builder does not check the weight of engine components to be sure they are within legal weight requirements ? Something sounds fishy to me.

Things get overlooked on occasion in the interest of time and money.

I highly doubt things would get overlooked by such a well financed engine builder in a racing series where everyone pays strict attention to every detail to ensure they win races.

I agree 100% if all you do is build race engines then there are NO shortcuts!
