He almost sounds like the entire time he's thinking "Man this was a mistake" at least that's my take.

Yeah, it sounded as if he had to make excuses to the Aussie audience for the NASCAR trucks/cars being so archaic.
I think it's really sad that NASCAR still uses carburetors and 4-speed transmissions,
especially when they (France Family)could take the Grand-Am drivetrain combos and use then in NASCAR.
