It's May 20-21. Anyone else planning on being there? The Aston Martins are coming this year to make the 'Vettes work for it a little, and with the R-10 MIA until after LeMans, there could very well be a good shootout for the overall win between the R-8, the Dysons, and the Porsche LMP-2s.

Man, I wish I could attend. I'll be getting back from San Diego mid-day on the 21st. Have a good time, Dan! You going Sat. & Sun.?

DanS.02GT 5/5/06 03:54 PM

Yeah. Planning on camping at the track, too. $25 to set up a tent is cheaper than the gas to go home and come back in the morning. Also morning warm-up will serve as an alarm clock that has no snooze button, so I won't be showing up late on Sunday.

Just got back from a great day at the track, and looking forward to more tomorrow. Jason, you'll definitely want to catch the SWC GT race when Speed gets around to showing it. Without giving too much away, the Volvo is back, and with Galati driving, suddenly it's fast.

Dan thanks for the heads up! Sorry I missed the race.

009 Aston Martin put new meaning to the phrase "flyaway race":

A la Mark Webber circa 1999 Le Mans . . . .

Glad the results weren't as bad for the Aston.

Man . . Galati is making the Volvo look GOOD!! (Watching race this evening on SPEED TV). Looked like a PERFECT day for racing. I wish I could have attended.

It was a little chilly, but I'll take 53 and sunny over 53 and raining any day.

I went back this Saturday to meet up with a buddy from another forum who was running his Z/06 at a BMW track day. Before I knew what hit me, he had found an instructor willing to let me ride along for a lapping session in a prepped Porshe 944 Turbo. Great googly, TV, or even a track walk doesn't do that rollercoaster of a track any justice. Now I understand why "Madness" is called madness. Also spotted a new Shelby GT-H being used for what God, but not Hertz, intended.

I'll be back there this weekend for the SCCA Nationals. Hopefully the weathermen sitck to there word and deliver mid-70s and sunny as promised. The mighty Mazda hasn't seen a fully dry track yet this year.
