So don't do this at home fellas...

So my good buddies and I headed off to the Hockenheimring a couple of weekends ago. One buddy of mine owns a sexy triple black 13' Shelby.

Please excuse the language at the end I'm posting the link and not the vid in here because of language.

I'd say the sphincter factor was a 10!

https://themustangsource.com/forums/...milies/jaw.gifSo I read about this in your other post, but this video was un-:censored:-real!
What a save!! Your buddy pulled of the save of the year. Cudos. What was the failure mode? He must have been doing ~150 when this happened.

Stevedotmil 3/18/15 07:18 PM

He was doing around 130 when he hit the brake pedal and nothing happened. He had been riding his brakes the 2 laps before this one. He cooked his fluid and HPS pads were faded. He was on stock fluid and sticky new Michelin Pilot Super Sports too which accentuated the braking force. There was a huge chunk taken out of the driver's front tire. The one I posted in my thread.

Why was he still hitting speeds of 130+ what his brakes were not at full potential?

5.M0NSTER 3/18/15 07:24 PM

****! Well this is a good lessen on why you need proper fluid and pads before hitting the track. Fantastic save though. I'm floored.

He was trying to catch me and got caught up in the German traffic. Rookie driver.

Holy hell, that was a one hell of a save. Very lucky he didnt get caught up with the car ahead of him. I can't say that I would have thought to do the same thing.

¡Holy frijoles!

ElkGroveFordGuy 3/18/15 10:18 PM

WOW!
Great save!

Stevedotmil 3/21/15 10:37 AM

He has really learned his lesson. He's a good friend of mine and our whole car club has posted his video across the world for being dumb. We are all very thankful that it didn't end up the alternative way. He's got Motul 600 and track pads coming in the mail along with the Shelby reservoir and stainless clutch line.

His new wife, who was the passenger in the video, has been driving his car when they are driving around as punishment to himself for scaring the crap out of her. At least until his parts come in.

LMAO. I'm stealing that picture. It made national broadcast news for best saves of the day.

Plim 3/22/15 04:40 AM

Wow, Steve I read about it in your other thread, but seeing the video makes it so much more of an awesome save. Unbelievable he didn't hit anything, and from the looks of it, the run off track, was just long enough. Thanks for posting! I'm going to do a brake upgrade before I track my car.

Glenn 3/22/15 06:53 AM

I would have made the turn brakes no brakes jezzzzz what a noob ... no but really did he have a horse shoe hanging from the rear view mirror?

Stevedotmil 3/22/15 09:38 AM

His car is nicknamed "Ex Frau". I guess this time she actually gave back some good Karma.

DarrenGT 3/22/15 10:51 AM

made my morning! Thanks for sharing :)

Stevedotmil 3/22/15 03:12 PM
