The fact that you even had to ask this question makes me sad.
If you even have to ask I'm not sure the GT500 is right for you.
Just messin with ya. But it really is a no brainer. Coming from a guy with a GT that's pushing about 550 at the crank I'd still go with the Shelby. Plus some poor bastards already taken the 2 year hit on the depreciation for you.

Thanks guys. As much as i liked the power of the 5.0 this 5.4 S/C motor is crazy powerful!! Gonna take some getting used to. Tranny shifts are super short compared to the MT-82 but its so solid feeling.

Dude, congras! Looks amazing. You are one lucky guy. I think I like the silver with matte-black stripes. Don't take the stripes off just yet! Can you post pics of the engine bay and interior?

I sat in a GT500 at the last auto show and I loved the Recaros. If only Ford offered them in other colors other than black. I don't like this new trend of their top trim levels only being available in black interior!

Great looking car..they just look so mean....when i was shopping for my 12 (fall 2011) one of the dealers had a silver 12 GT500 vert on the floor that stickered for $55,790...then in April I saw they had it on sale for $48,484...it was gone very quickly..someone got a great deal...

Late to the thread, but the GT500 is a cut above. Yes, GT's can be modded to compare with the Shelby, but the Shelbys are just...well, they're Shelbys. It's not just the looks, it's not just the sound, it's not just the performance. It's all of that under one hood, stock. They sound wonderful off the lot, they look wonderful off the lot, and they go FAST off the lot. It's all under warranty, and trust me...EVERYBODY notices the Shelby in traffic. You won't believe the head-turns you get. It's a Shelby. 'nuff said.
BTW, the stripes are 50/50 for me. I don't think they look bad, but I'd make them red were it mine. But then mine's black with red stripes, so maybe I'm partial.
