Where exactly can you drive 200 mph in the United States? And this is important why? I take it doing 150 in the 5.0 just isn't fast enough when you got to go to the potty.

Question

Is it in Nevada where the Highway patrol closes a long straight highway to allow contestants to drive their production cars over 200 mph ? , or was it another Western state ?

Just the fact that it "can go 200" makes it better. Plus it'll be better if I can get Grabber Orange for 2013. Who do I call to make this happen?

I am NOT buying a car that days "School Bus yellow" lol what a terrible color name. Almost like a sick joke.

I dont think Ford is going to raise the price as high as some expect. Ford would not prevent previous GT500 owners from purchasing a GT500 by pricing the car out of their market. Ford knows it has some loyal GT500 owners that they want to trade up to a GT500.They will not offend those owners by making another GT500 too expensive for them.

I respectfully disagree. Look at the fees Ford makes the dealers pay for the privilege to sell them. The whole share of nations crap. The ADM dealers charge and Ford could care less.

They'll get as much as they can for these cars. Ford doesn't care about being loyal to anyone. Just look at all the warranty problems posted here.

When might dealers start accepting orders?
What might be a great dealer in the Western half of the country (perfer NW USA) that might sell at or bellow MSRP?
Cheers,
Jouster

That'd be 70k for a loaded coupe sans glass roof and 75k for a loaded vert. A base GT500 coupe would still be 60k and 65k obviously for the vert based on 2012 prices.

Still a bit more than I'd like seeing as the base ZL-1 which is comparable to the GT500PP (6/4 pot brakes, coolers, adjustible dampers, et al) which starts at 56k

70 more HP is nice but with the base ZL1 being so close to the GT500PP I'd expect the prices to be closer than that, epsecially when you consider this platform has been around since 05 and Ford pretty much had the amortized costs covered early on (remeber S-197 sales were wildly beyond what they had predicted and if not, you would have never seen an interior upgrade and two exterior upgrades by this time).

As thoroughly as the 2013 model has been engineered I'm positive it more than likely cost less than the interior upgrade for the 2010+ models.

What are you talking about?

Other than a few vocal posters - of which nothing was proven, and some issues early on - both of which have been taken care of, and understandable with a brand new engine and brand new transmission. Boomer posted there were way more TSB's with the 05 than the 5.0/MT-82. Other posters have shown the alleged #8 issue was due to over aggressive after market tunes.

Ford has gone out of their way to make sure problems were legitimate and taken care of legitimate problems, and made sure it is well documented. And now with assistance on numerous forums by online Customer Service to make sure local Dealers are getting the message from the customer - and the message that Ford is watching.

I disagree with your exaggeration.

Ford is doing a great job with customers, shareholders, bondholders & lenders, vendors, suppliers, UAW, and building the brand.

Remember the gt-r is AWD therefore instant launch, not to mention twin turbos already at the right rpm so they boost instantly as well. The z06 is much lighter, weight ratio is much more balanced, slick through the air (gtr is as well) and massive tires out back with a different compound than the gt500. Fords car is a sporty coupe, nose heavy, street compound on the tires (unless SVTPP equipped) and all that power cant be translated into the ground. Throw slicks and skinnies on there and youll be flying. Numbers can only say so much about a car

Go to any other car forum. There are the same, if not more, amount of vehicle complaints.

You raise some very good points and I'm likely venting from my flat out rude experiences on Ford dealers showroom floors talking to their sales people about GT500's and Boss 302's. I am also admittedly cynical in regard to car companies keeping their word on warranty. I've had issues with various brands through the years and my list of mods have never gone further than a cat back exhaust. I will say having someone here from Ford monitoring customer service issues is a great way forward....

I for one can't wait to hear this thing rev to 7k. I always loved the sound of the Mach 1 on the SN95s because they screamed. Imagine that with the TVS on top. Yum!!!
