Shelby Question
Hi All,
I'm planning on getting a new Mustang this fall. I currently have an '05 GT as my daily driver & am looking to get something new. (I know there's a new *something* coming in '15, but I'm removing that from the equation until I learn more about it.) I live in the midwest & experience the complete range of weather -- including snow, but my GT has handled everything just fine. I had my heart set on ordering a '14 convertible GT, but I started to look on Ebay & noticed there were several Shelby convertibles in the 2010 - 2011 range. They had low miles & an attractive price tag. Considering my new car will also be a daily driver, is there any reason not to consider a (slightly) used Shelby? Are they more finicky mechanically? Do they handle worse in the snow? Is normal maintenance significantly more expensive? Any comments or experiences would be helpful. Thanks! |

Question 3. Snow, don't know, but I don't see why they would. Question 4. Slightly more expensive to maintain |
Driving a Shelby in the snow ? I don't know if I would try it. Wide tires and big horsepower numbers do not make for a good drive in snow. To use a GT500 in snow , you would need snow tires and a lot of ballast in the trunk.

A Mustang belongs in one place in the winter, in the GARAGE!
