'13 GT or '11/'12 GT500 or '13 Boss

So I want to get a new mustang, always wanted a Shelby and can get a used '11 or even a new '12 for just a bit more than a nicely option GT in a color I want. Or a Boss and have that limited edition! I love the '13 body style, to many options not enough garage space!

yes.

13 Boss....

Dbranham 4/8/12 03:00 PM

Will it be a daily driver?

Boss 1409 4/8/12 03:04 PM

I would say the Boss or GT500, never driven a GT500, but I can tell you the Boss is a blast!

Get what you've always wanted.

Id trade in my truck for it so it would be a DD, but Id still want to pick up an older suv or something to use to hunt/fish and tow a small atv trailer.

Dbranham 4/8/12 04:12 PM

Than my vote is either a gt500 or boss

I think I'm alone here but I'd say if it a DD then get a GT. it's a blast and high miles will not really be that big a deal. Rare mustangs shouldn't be driven daily, keep then clean but hey it's your car

Ridiculous, ALL mustangs are built to be driven, from the first to the last.

Speeddmn 4/8/12 05:35 PM

Im definitely gonna drive it, but if i go to the woods or mountains i wont be taking it. Or if snow is flying all over!

I know if i got a GT id mod it and spend a small fortune, if I get a GT500 id do bolt on's and be pretty **** happy, if I got a Boss, id get some new wheels and tires and that would be all. So its just a hard decision.

Plus I love both sterling grey and deep impact blue! Kona is sexy as hell so Id look for that on a 500.

You can even peck of a '10 GT500 for 40k...

540hp vs 550hp in the 11/12s.

Personally, I would not want to expose 55-60K car to the rigors of daily driving. I'd be worried about parking lots, idiot drivers, thieves, vandals, etc. But that's just me. Agreed the same exposures exist with a weekend car but the exposures are much less. I've worked too hard for my money and value it and what it buys accordingly.

Boss

They are all awesome cars, but there's only one with the Cobra on it, and that's the end of the conversation for me, Sir.

The clear choice is... yours

All are good choices, but 3 factors you can weigh;

1. New GT gives you the freedom to find one already or soon to be built with the exact color/options you want. So the most 'choice'. Savvy buyer know they can get Xplan near invoice pricing if they look around.

2. Leftover GT500 leaves you with limited selection. For me, I dont want the SVT PP option no matter how much they discount that almost 4k option. I would also want Recaros and Nav, so that further reduces the odds of finding what I want.

3. Leftover '12 Boss now going for under MSRP, so if you like that style, you can get a good deal. I happen to prefer the '13 style with the bonus of having HIDs and Sync, the latter being a huge plus for a DD when the weather is nice. Plus the Boss is 'special', they won't keep making it year after year.

I was in your shoes too until recently. After 'missing out' on last year's Boss, I was able to start looking again and was able to order a new Boss from a local dealer for MSRP. I factored in everything, also with being able to drive my wife's loaded GT as well.

So if you would miss the power seats, nav, glass roof, and upgraded stereo, the Boss may not be for you. The GT500 provides more 'wow' factor than a GT, so you get your dose of muscle and power seats, nav, etc provided you can find one optioned the way you want. New GT is still awesome as is, it speaks for itself.

I made my decision, buy what *you* want, not what 9/10 strangers on an internet forum vote for.
