:nice: :nice:

From "Road Tests by Magazines" 64 - 99:

1964 Ford Fairlane Thunderbolt 427cu in, 425HP @6000, 480TQ @3700
QTR: 11.76 @122.78mph, B.Leal at 1964 NHRA Nats

The only one quicker was that dang Dodge: '64 Hemi 426 was 11.40 @ 125mph, MCR

Nobody else hit 11's until the 96 Dodge Viper Hennessey Venom 600: 11.8 @124mph, MT 3/96

What year? The only COPO I see on their records is a '70 Nova 13.52 @102.13mph.

I just finished up building one of those for a friend.

Sweet.

Those 'ram air' intake tubes remind me of Lost in Space.
DANGER! DANGER!

The 1969 427 Super Yenko Camaro. 11.9 @ 115 mph. Factory installed ZL1 427 rated at 425hp.
See here

There were also the Baldwin Motion cars that came with an 11 sec. GUARANTEE. The '68 Phase III Camaro was guaranteed to run 11.50 with an appropriately licensed driver at the wheel. The cars were pretty far from factory cars, but they were sold as new cars with invoice and a warranty. Some info here.

This is a 2000 list from cobranet for Magazine Road tests. Didn't save the link, just the list.

Maybe this one was too modded? :dunno:

The best 69 Camaro they list is ZL-1 427, 425 HP/460#', 12.76 @107, tested by MCR in 1987.
