timing

Gt40p heads, e303 cam,1.7 r/r, u/l gt40 (explorer) intake, egr spacer, 65mm t.b, 70mm maf,19# injectors, ford racing shorty headers, H pipe and dumps,4:10 with a shift kit and a 3000 stall converter aluminum drive shaft . What would be a good timing set point for this set up?

Thanks.

You can probably run up to 14* but may have to run premium fuel. Every degree of timing will be worth a bit if hp. Just pay close attention to spark knock. If you get to the point where there is spark knock then back it off 2* and you should be good. You can check for spark knock by loading the engine. For instance try going up a hill in 4th gear at about 25 mph give or take. This will load the engine when spark knock is most likely to occure
