Missed cruise nights last week since my fiancee and I were in Vegas for my birthday, but I took in the local Wed night cruise this week, and took a few pics of course. Last night I went to the NH Mustang Club cruise night in Hooksett NH and low and behold a member showed up with his 4-day old GT350

You ask, you receive: I'm in cardiac arrest. Amazing pics. Thanks for posting. In the late 90's I visited the LV shop in the motorsports complex when it was near Nellis AFB and the race track. I had just missed Carroll Shelby by 10 minutes but I stayed quite a while and toured the facility including the museum which was tiny compared to what you saw. I've never seen a Shelby Series 1 on the road, but I did get to see them being made at individual work stations reminiscent of photos I've seen of Cobras being built in California in the 60's. The tour guide explained that they were only available in silver with any color stripe one desired. At the end of the tour I spotted a black Series 1 at the back of the facility and I questioned the tour guide about his contradictory statement. He said "That's Carroll's. He gets any color he wants." |
I'd love to have one of the old Shelby Cobras (289 or 427 - both badass to me).

I've seen a Series 1 on the road a couple of times, definitely very rare cars since they only made 249 of them.
