Rear brakes issues.

OK maybe asking here will be more beneficial and I will actually get a reply. Been trying to get a reply from fb groups but it seems ppl can't read properly there. It's so frustrating.

As some of you know, I'm in Canada. I'd like to know where do you guys get your calipers?
My 2006 that needs rear calipers. I'd like to buy new OEM if possible. I've tried raybestos remans and they aren't very good and giving me problems. Id also like to know, is why wouldn't a DR3Z-2553-B caliper not fit my car?
Aren't the rear calipers the exact same from 2005 to 2014 for both V6 and v8?
What's the difference other than it being painted black?

My current drivers side caliper is driving me crazy. It squeals and makes noise all the time. Sometimes while I am driving and while pushing the brakes. I've been through 2 or 3 raybestos remans and they all do the same thing. I've tried sanding the brake pads and rotors. I've tried embedding the brakes. But nothing works.

The little arm that goes up when engaging the parking brake is up a little when the p brake is disengaged. And my bro thinks I'm ridding the brakes which makes sense which is making me think it's the caliper. The parking brake cable is from raybestos as well. Everything is new. Brake pads, reman caliper, rotors, parking brake cable, even have steel lines.

The passenger side is a reman and there is no issues whatsoever. So I don't know what is going on.

I read somewhere that it could be the ABS sensor?

So I want to get a new OEM caliper but can't find anything and would like to know why I can't use the DR3Z-2553-B for my car.

I think you are Correct on the Painted Black Difference. It's Been So Long Though!

The Current Left Rear Service Part for Your Car Is a Motorcraft #BRCF-282 or OEM# DR3Z-2553-C

Available at Rock Auto and Here are Some on Ebay Canada. Did You Try Local Dealer on this Number?

Ebay Listings Showing Some Interchange.

https://www.ebay.ca/sch/i.html?_from...0&LH_PrefLoc=2

Rock Auto Crossover Ford Number to Motorcraft.

https://www.rockauto.com/en/partsear...tnum=dr3z2553c

Parts Giant Cataloging Reference.

https://www.fordpartsgiant.com/parts....html?pnc=2552

I Put this in To Show How Ford / Motorcraft Parts are One in the Same. Now There are OEM Only Ford Numbers But in the Case of Calipers they are The Same. Be Advised They Will Most Likely Be New Not Reman Even Though Depending on Which Catalog You Want to Believe. Some Ford Reman Stuff Can Come Either Way Even Though They Always Say Reman. It Has to Do With Getting a Core Base if Ford Decides To Reman a Certain Item. It gets Confusing But I Wanted to get That Out There! Notice NO CORE CHARGE on Item on Rock Auto So Doubtful any Remans Coming From Ford on Your Particular Caliper.

one thing to check: did you make sure the notches in the piston were rotated correctly, so that the little rivet buttons on the back of the pad will fit in the notches? If not, the pad will sit cockeyed up on top of those buttons.

and yes I do believe the rear calipers were all the same for the GT's 2005-2014 and probably V6 too

Yes sir! I even have the tool to rotate the piston into the caliper. I'm very particular when it comes to mechanical stuff. If it's not perfect it's garbage so I make sure to do everything properly and by the book.
Thank you for confirming. Now I have more options other than what Ford says is strickly for my car.

Thanks so much KC. I really appreciate your help as well. I did check rockauto and it says the Ford ones are Remans. But what you are saying is that even rockauto says they are remans they aren't necessarily remans?

I also forgot to mention that when braking slightly hard I can hear what it sounds like the parking brake being stretched or something like that. I've never encountered this before.
I have yet to ask my local ford dealership about the calipers but wanted to see other options in case they don't have anything.
Thanks again KC & Bert.

I am Listing a TSB to Point Out The Mustangs Have Had a History of Dragging E Brakes as an FYI.

As Far As the M/C Caliper I Believe it's Going to Be a New Item. Funny Every Other Listing on Ebay Says New on One and Reman on the Other. Typical Ford Weirdness!
