Numerous error codes …

My car are been in storage for while. I needed to replace the battery when I got it out. Soon after driving it again, I am see check engine error codes coming up.
  • P0340: Camshaft Position Sensor "A" Circuit Bank 1 or Single Sensor
  • P0306: Cylinder 6 Misfire Detected
  • P0304: Cylinder 4 Misfire Detected
  • P0344: Camshaft Position Sensor "A" Circuit Intermittent Bank 1 or Single Sensor
  • P0506: Idle Air Control System RPM Lower Than Expected

Can all this be related to the Alternator? :screwy: I did so research and found that the 2005 GT has this a common issue with code P0304/P0344. But not sure if they it would cause the misfire and low PRPM also.

Any help or insight :grouphug: before taking to the dealer to have them check and cost me a arm and a leg would be appreciated :metal:

Regards

Only real true Mod to is axle back SLP loudmouths put on back on 05.

Just off the top of my head it seems I've read where a weak alternator can cause the camshaft position and therefore misfire codes.
I believe autozone or some of the other parts stores will check your alternator for free.
The only other thing I can think of would be related to the MAF sensor due to code P0506. Don't know how long you had it in storage but could this have corroded? Or could mice have made a nest or chewed through a wire?

thanks for the quick reply and I head down to autozone tomorrow and check the wiring in the daylight.

any time a car is stored, PLEASE take a look around under the hood and INSIDE THE AIRBOX, under the filter. I have had three air filters ate by mice and a battery blanket... the air filters happened on my 06 mustang twice and my 2000 mercury once(they sit outside ), something about the shape of these airboxes must make comfy mouse condos...weird.
the battery blanket was on my 09, really kinda freaked me out as its new/undriven, luckily that was all they chewed and only the one time... hadnt had any mice in the garage that i know of since.

any chance when changing the battery a plug mighta become dislodged somewhere?

thanks for the relay.... update... Tested the Alternator and needed to changed it out. Tested the system again at Autozone and drove it 100 plus miles today with success. Just as a was pulling back into the driveway error code "P0506: Idle Air Control System RPM Lower Than Expected" came back. It was too dark to look under the hood and check the MAF sensor and clean it .

Try disconnect the ground wait a min and hook it back up OR if you had a tune in at the time of altenator replacement that could muck it up & if you do spray clean the MAF sensor I'd set hour tune to stock first , just like you would be fore taking a car into a service centre , the verify your stately number/code that they match before uploading a tune.

thanks everyone .... replaced the air filter, cleaned the TB and MAS. The car is running great and passed California's smog. I am going to drive it work a few times next week and get it ready to sell.
