i agree that if he is happy that is all that matters; but from what info is available i dont think he won; it was just like leasing a car and ford will win overall after the resale. all it accomplished was he was able to dump the car off at ford; i like my mustang too much to have done what he did; as most of you said, this problem can be fixed and the wrong approach was taken. with all the knowledge he had access to in this forum he could have gotten the problem fixed with our help; i have also periodically had this problem but not consistently; just one of those bugs that was a designe error that we have come to expect.

Too bad. If I would've known of this problem sooner I could've told you how to fix it yourself. There's probably about 50some threads on this issue, and it is fixable, although it may resurface in time. Hope you enjoy your new car as much as I enjoy my Mustang.

Saturns run good for the most part, and it doesn't hurt to keep miles off your higher priority vehicle. I just wouldn't own a saturn, or maybe not have only a saturn...

I've learned that people that gloat over simple, personal, trivial or unnecessary triumphs, usually enjoy the conflict more than they would a compromise.

Thanks. I got to enjoy the win while I can. Who knows when it will happen again; and no I didn't attend the parade, I had to work.

I think he probably did want something more and he had to settle for what he got which is nothing and to save face he is saying he won. Like when a guy gets punched in the face and points out that he bruised the other guys knuckles.

BUMMER! My boss knew I wanted to go, and I work ALOT at the dealership, so he let me have the day off. I also got a ticket to Citizens Bank, for the ceremony. IT WAS INSANE heading down there. The train ride, the El ride, and the subway. Everyone was happy and and high 5s were aplenty that morning!! Remind me to burn a copy of all the pics I took and give to you.

Angry

ok, you guys are killing me. I love my mustang and I've loved every mustang I've ever owned. But for real there is NO WAY IN H*LL I would put up with a car that I couldn't put gas in. If I had that problem and the dealer or Ford couldn't or wouldn't fix it, I would have ditched it too, and I dang well am not getting under a brand new car to fix anything myself. I ditched my '06 GT after only 4 months of ownership because it leaked like a sieve. Does that mean I am not mustang "loyal" or I don't love mustangs or I am just being a whiner? No, it means I am not going to let Ford screw me. Mustang or not, this kind of stuff is NOT ACCEPTABLE with a brand new car. Ford should take the blame here, not that buyer, so spit in Ford's face, not his.

Did he "win"? Depends. His only recourse was to get rid of the car - trade it in, sell it himself, or pressure Ford to take it back. If he was upside down on his loan, then yes he won because Ford took that loss, not him. Aside from that, to some people just getting a perpetual pain in the butt out of their lives is "winning".

Now here we are. From what I gather this was his first mustang and if the problem would have been fixed he would have been happy as a clam. But thanks to Ford's poor design and inability to fix the problem he will probably never own another one again, and I doubt he will ever have anything good to say about them or mustangs (or us either at this point). Thank you Ford for splaying egg all over ALL of our faces.
