This of course doesn't comfort them

I sure hope someone figures this out. I've got 1500 on my new 07 GT/CS and I hear that same dull clunk sound on the front left corner. I'm sure the front right does not make the sound.

I'm leaning toward bad ball joints but I'd better make an appointment for mine too, just in case.

Ok... we could rule out the shocks then... I'm sure that my front right (passenger side) is clunking!

Question: WHO MAKES BETTER aftermarket ball joints or whole lower arms?

i have had this problem on my 05 since it was new, and had it in many times for the dealer to fix it. it is only on the passanger side. i am going to have to pay for it eventually i am sure, since the warranty is up. i am postive its the ball joint, but heres the problem with showing it to the dealer. when you jack the car up, it pops back into where its supposed to be, so when they bang around the front end with the tire iron, it seems fine. after having the car up in the air, it wont clunk for like 10 miles, then starts all over again. im so sick of bringing it in and having them say nothing is wrong, i might could just pay for a new ball joint.

I ,too, have had this problem with that suspension clunk from day one. It is the only thing I dislike about my car. It makes it feel like a clunker. Iwish Ford would find a cure for it.I'll bet the new Challenger and Camaro won't have this problem. Come on Ford fix this problem!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had the clunk on my 05 Vert. got it fixed.

The dealer took three tries to find the problem. I finally had to put the mechanic in the right seat and prove that it was clunking.

They reordered the strut tower brace according to the first TSB back in 05 and it hasn't clunked since. I only have 13k on it and it is almost two years old

Now if they will just get my CD's out of the six disc without trashing them I'd be really happy.

That's what I was thinking about too... today I'm going to take my front wheels off and tighten every bolt and nut with a 10 foot extension until they snap!

Same problem here...seems like the driver's side is prevelent. I'll deal with it when I'm in for the 6,000 mile service.

This guy says the clunk was gone after they replaces upper arms... might worth a shot.

I think he is talking about the lower A arms. We don't have upper A arms.

One guys fix was the struts: http://forums.bradbarnett.net/showthread.php?t=57463&goto=newpost

Can't get it to work either. Anyway, our struts just may have a design problem.

The link doesn't work... can you check it...

After checking every nut and bolt today and tweaked everything.. I'm sure it's struts. Has to be. Bad balljoints will cause tramlining, general noise etc...

Well, they had the car yesterday and called Ford to see what they can do. They won't deny it's making the noise, or that the noise is abnormal. I think a set of chassis ears is in my car's future. I'll let everyone know what they find (or don't find).

Something isn't right. Last night I was taking some tight turns at about 35mph (speed limit, bth) and when I turned hard left at the corner I hear and felt a very loud CLINK. It was like the lower A-arm on the right suddenly shifted and I definitely felt it in the steering wheel as well. I tried duplicating it and could not, but the clunking over railroad tracks and such is still there. The more I look for it, the more I think it is both fronts, but now louder from the front right.

I've got 1700 miles on it and will be telling Ford at 2500 when I have the oil changed.
