I have used Lucas prior to an 18 hour trip on my 07 CS and I saw a diggerence in gas mileage so I think it helped even after the trip.

Techron Supreme is recommended by FORD and keeps your FUEL CARD in the Tank clean to boot. Good to use Regularly. At every oil change would be a good way to remember. The Regular use is more for the fuel card than the injectors but it's an expensive repair for the fuel sender and wont hurt the injectors so why not.

Never Tried it but the Local Autozone Guy swears by it when I asked what he recommended. I would be curious of anybodies elses experience with it.

The one I've used the most over the years is Techron, but I've also used the ones from Amsoil and Redline in the past, and would trust any of the three.

I've used this for years in my other rigs about every 6 months or if they run a bit rough. Works great. Half way thru the tank and the engine is purring smooth again.

I checked out a few of 'em, and Techron seems to be the most popular so I went with it. It seemed to work pretty well and it cleared up my rough idling problem, so. Good stuff.

WE only use Chevron Fuel which has techron and we still end up with DTE FLI LOW every 30-40k miles. The last 2 times we got it I threw a bottle of F-16 fuel treatment in the tank. Both times it cleaned the sending unit (card). I don't know if a bottle of techron would have done the same or not..

For the injectors, we used a motorvac injection cleaning system. Basically, the motorvac has a very strong cleaner and fuel mixture. You hook the motorvac to the fuel rail and run the car off it for a few minutes (I think it was 15).

We did that on the mustang about 100k and again at 150k miles. I've also gotten that done a few times to the Explorer (385k miles on those injectors) and the Honda and it fixed a sticking injector on the Honda.

I think i'll try this instead of the $80 fuel system cleaner service.
What's the difference between the techron fuel system and fuel injection cleaner besides a few bucks?

I've used seafoam on my 96 Cobra and was pleased with the results. Haven't tried it in the Shelby yet though.

The original poster is probably long gone now after 11 years but the info never gets old. Techron is still the way to go as a first try. I add it once each year to all my cars. The BG44K is used by many GM dealers and even cleaned out my old air cooled Porsche 911 many years back. Good stuff but it is pricey.

Ford Says To Use Techron. It Is Good For Fuel Card in Tank Cleaning So Your Gauge Reads Correctly as Well. We Used BG at the Dealerships I have Worked At and It is Good Stuff! 44K is Great For Passing Emission Checks on Cars Which Have Failed First Time Around! Put in and Run through a Tank of Gas! Then Retest! I Like The BG MOA Oil Additive as Well I used to tell the techs MOA Stood For MOVE OVER ASSHAT after Using in Car! Good For Noisy Valvetrain!

Techron is what I believe in for mine too. Usually put in a bottle when I winterize so it goes through the first tank each spring. Since it is suggested to do it every 3000 miles I have decided that I don't really want to do it every year since I am putting less that 1000 miles on the car the last 3 summers. So I skipped this years dose. Wondering how good that is to have this stuff sitting in the tank for 3-4 months. Maybe I will start adding it to the first fill-up in the spring when the miles go up or I cross 3k since last falls mileage.

Great stuff, never had an issue and wanted to keep it running clean. 9 years and 22k miles so far.
