brand new car, but rust all over the rear end

Hi guys, I just wanted to ask you if you had this happening, I just traded my 05 for an 07, for an oportunity trading in my 05 and my truck.
the car is amazing, I love it, but today, I changed the axle backs for my SLP's, and found out that the rear end is all rusted, and the axle that connects the rear end with the tranny is rusted as well ( I forgot the name for it)
I was thinking maybe the people at ford can do something about it, but I am just ****ed that the car is all rusted underneath.
it looks like the car was underwater or something.

I also have that moaning when I turn slow in the parking lots and other places too....

I am not happy at all with that, so I will take it monday to the dealership to see what they tell me.
the other car had a little rust, but nothing compared to this one.
well if someone had similar situation, please write the outcome.

Thanks!

This was one of the reasons I had to order a car... Rust !:banghead:
I got mine as soon as it arrived. I even did all the paperwork ahead of time.
After almost a year, I have very little rust. I never drive in the rain or leave it out at night.
The bottom line is... if you want to keep it forever, seal the rust and paint it.

For some strange reason Ford fount elected not to paint the rear end or drive shaft.

I've painted the one on my car and truck with Tremclad hight gloss black and white. Works well.

I guess I will have to paint them too...
I hate rust too it looks so **** bad.
which paint will cover the rust ?

PATAN 2/3/07 12:57 AM

it is retarded that ford don't paint them from the beginning....

SteelTownStang 2/3/07 04:24 AM

I agree, I hate rust, however, it's only surface rust and will not hurt anything. You can be reassured that those rusty parts, axle, driveshaft, etc., will outlast you... so aside from the unsightly appearance, that you can only see if you're roadkill. I wouldn't worry about it... That being said, I'll probably paint mine as well one day...lol :nice: Oh, I can save you a trip to the dealership... They'll say it's normal, so don't waste your time.

It is normal, and nothing to worry about.

As I've said before... I don't remember what it's called, but it's designed to rust and this redbrown rust actually protects metal from RUSTING! Stupid, but true.

PATAN 2/4/07 01:26 AM

cool info
thanks!

The moan you're hearing is from your power steering pump, mine does the same when you reach the end of the turning radius. It's normal I wouldn't worry about it.

Yeah, that is the special "protection" rust that Ford has included at great expense to the Company. Do NOT remove it for any reason...it could void your warranty...

:rofl2: :rofl2: :rofl2:
