ABS/TCS Warning

I've been getting a ABS and TCS warnings, it's always on. I've searched the forum and googled the topic. Here is the real kicker, no codes. When the ABS module was read no codes, however when they tried to read the data information it errored. It even errored when they tried to read the engine module. This kind of sucks. I'm aware of the G101 problem, no soap there. Any thoughts?

just be careful- our 98 windstar got a abs light intermittently after having it in for a tierod recall, didnt think much about it being 'urgent' for a week or so, till one day went to stop on a bumpy road- the antilock braking became anti-braking...standing on the brakes all they did was vibrate, ended up pulling the ebrake/skidding to a stop inches from the car in front of me...limped to the dealer they found a loose connector in a front wheel was causing it. scary stuff.

I got a friend who is a Ford technician, it's the abs control module. He said that the brakes will work fine until I can replace the part. I just have remember how to pump the brakes like we did in the old days. As for the part, it lists for $562 (yeah I typed it correctly). Hey Ford does vasoline come with that or do I have to bring my own?

You didn't say what year car but check F8-10amp fuse in SJB {smart junction box}. It may be the cause for the Data Link Connector not working. The grounds for the DLC are G102 and G201.

Just for information. If a brake pad reline is done on abs systems it's best to crack the bleed screw on the caliper and drain the fluid from the caliper as you push the caliper pistons back in, then retighten the bleed screw before resetting the next caliper. This prevents dirty fluid from being forced up the brake line and possibly entering the abs module where problems may happen soon after.
