Well. Got a second opinion on my 09 gt. Been told twice now that I'll need an engine replacement. Which is terrible. No way I can afford $9k or half that. It still drives and runs good until about 20 30 minutes of driving. It then makes a clanking sound and the whole exhaust bogs and loose power. I can't remember exactly what they called the problem but apparently a new engine is the key. Any other suggestions or does anyone know of a place I can get this fixed for a reasonable price or can make payments on it. I hate to lose my car....

we really need to know what are the problems with the engine before we can advise as to whether the most cost effective way is to replace the whole thing, versus repairing whatever is wrong

another option is Jasper remanufactured engine; they are said to be fairly cost effective; some folks question their quality but generally I think they are pretty good

How many miles on the car?? You don't need to be spending ANYTHING on a car with crazy high miles as everything will need to be replaced. It just might be time for a nice used low mileage GT in a model year of your choice. Especially true if payments are required.
