I heard a rumor that there is a racing organization in the Southeast that does that sort of thing. Here's a forum full of info to get you started.
HPDE is where it all starts. Check that forum first.

Just posted this to your OTHER post you started on this same topic.
Well, to start with have a HUGE amount of money. If you havent raced before, a great place to start is in Auto Cross. Doesnt matter what you drive (completly stock, slight modification, etc), there is a place for you in AX. Its safe, little chance of causing a ton of damage to your car (about the most you will hit is a cone),and its challenging.
Check out the SCCA web site for info:

Here in So Cal there is a VERY active group of AX'ers. Check out their web site also:

I am sure there are others like the one above regionally.
Hope that helps some

ASA, go to www.teamtac.org, Twickenham Autoclub is a local group of AutoCrossers. Most are also in the Tennessee Valley region of SCCA. The forums and content there cover both clubs and there's a wealth of information.
NASA is also a good group to work with but I don't know much about them.
If you want to see what AX is about there's a TAC event this sunday. If you want to run get there early, like around 9am. If you want to just watch and take a ride show up when you can but make sure your there before 4pm or so. TAC also does a drivers school geared towared car control, AX, and emergency driving around the end of Feb or early March.

Hi, I'm, "a friend." I've ran three seasons at the Hunstville speedway in the Buzz divison, and told Asa that I would interested in other forms of racing. I won't really have much of a budget for awile so I was hoping I could find something low cost. I'd would be grate If I can just use my buzz car for this a well. At least until I decide to start burning money.
I noticed the even is on Sunday. Is this the usual? I go to church in Athens and the soonest I'd be able to make it to Huntsville would probably be 1 PM.

how's the crx coming along....that would be a good one to use i would think.
a little run down on his crx
2nd gen crx stripped maybe 1200lbs 1350-1400lb him in it. b16a jap motor and with the mods he's got i think its close to 180-200whp (fix it if its wrong).

Mark says his stipped down Si hes running in the pro buzz weighs 1200lbs. I have an HF chassis so it's supposed to be enven lighter. I haven't run it across any scales though. The motor I have is supposed to have 160hp according to what I've read. I have it in the car but I need to buy an ECU and install my safty equipment. Also I need to figure some thing out for the axles. The one I have are the right length but are too lage for my hubs. I'm thinking of taking the outer CVs off the old axles and putting them on these.
I haven't spent much time on it since I hadn't had money for parts until just recently and now I got a fuel injector leaking pretty bad on my truck. That and I've been playing videogames with you. :P

You can use the buzz car but with it being stripped and the modifications may put you in some prepped or mod class. We use the SCCA rules for classing so if you go to that website look at the rules and see what it best falls under. TAC isn't real particular about it's classing but they do want it close.
There are also classes for cars that are completely stock. So if you have something you don't mind eating tires on that's an option also.
Unfortunately Sundays are when AX typically happens around here. If you can live with one Sunday away from church a month thats about the schedule for AX.

We have also gotten groups together and rented out the Talladega Gran Prix course : www.tgprace.com. Probably the best bang for the buck for just open track time (I think Barber is $10,000 per day to rent out).

I read the car classification page, but I don't think my car would fit in any of those classes. The page finishes with:
But the link was broke.
I have a family reunion this Sunday so I won't be able to come. I plan on at least watching next month though.
More vehicles and different changes are allowed in Street Prepared, but major modification will put you in the Prepared or even a Modified category; consult the rules for details.

RCMC could not possibly afford it.
