Oil Prices Continue to Fall
Watching the markets this morning and oil has dropped below $43 a barrel. The talking heads are saying it could fall to $25 over the next couple of months. I bought gas in Winchester, TN last week for $1.58 gallon. Home Depot has some new stores that have convenience stores with gas. I received a fuel card that accumulates credits based on my purchases at the main store good for .10% discount ($200 = .20 cents) on fuel up to the price of the fuel. The credits float for 3 months. 20 gallon maximum purchase each time. kennyg

Ive been watching them also. even with gas prices as low as they are, theyre still overcharging us when a barrel of oil is only $43. I read somewhere that gas is expected to drop down to around a dollar. Thats as low as its been in atleast 15 years!

When gas hit $4 a gallon, it hurt everyone. I noticed it in my business, because owner's of Mustang projects as 3rd or 4th cars, didn't have that little bit of extra money left from their paychecks to buy that next part that they need, or to do preventative maintenance. And they are still trying to recover. kennyg

I know my family is. my 68 is a gas guzzler, maybe 8 miles to the gallon. Our cobra only takes 93 octane gas and has a 14 gallon tank. So none of our cars are fuel friendly.

you guysgot it lucky,
i have to pay for the gas for my company car,
we put a min of 1500 miles a week on it and average 22 mpg
do when gas was 3.50-4.00 a gallon i was spending 240-270 a week
i get reimbursed but it still hits my bottom line in sales which means it comes out of my bonuses
now that gas is 1.60 range i save 400-500 a month easily

This whole gas price issue just bites. I paid $5 for diesel a few months ago and now it's half that. All grades of gas have plummeted too. We were all taken to the cleaners while CEOs and oil companies made huge profits while lying about the reason....it's just criminal if you ask me and Congress won't do anything 'cause they are too busy bailing everyone out. If Texaco etc. ask for bailouts after this fiasco, I'm going to blow a fuse.
Be very aware, especially during this Holiday time, that delivery companies and airlines are still scamming us by charging fuel surcharges. I just paid $25 extra to have something shipped that only cost $25 total this time last year. Also got charged $15 for checked bag at the airport.....would have been free to carry on if it were small enough....reason: fuel surcharge. Huh? Same flight/same fuel but they put it underneath instead of me carrying it on for free.

Yup, its highway robbery what they can do to us. A lot of people on wall street are saying that the low gas prices are a bad thing. "It reflects a bad economy". In my opinion the only thing that has effected me throught the economy IS the high gas prices. My families been much better off since prices came down.

Big motor companies get 15 Billion(or around there). They also have to do several things though I just can't remember what.
The low gas prices do show the down economy. It is a good and bad thing. Good for us in some ways and bad for us in some ways.

They have to be monitored very closly for a certain amount of time. I think they also have to have monthly or quarterly statements about where the money is going

This whole Big 3 (and others) bailout reminds me of the Steve Martin movie, "The Jerk" when folks lined up and pleaded their case why they needed his money. The one guy need $$ to replace the cracked leather seats in his private jet because it was embarrassing when he took his friends to football games. LOL

Here's an article about Americans driving less even as gas prices go down. I noticed a major decline in big vehicles, LSUV's and duallies, when the price of gas topped out. Also it seems as though people are driving a little more conservative, although there will still be those Mario Andretti wannabes regardless of the price or availability of fuel. kennyg
