be careful, a stiff rear sway bar can cause a rear end to break loose easier on corners,
it does not let the weight transfer tot the inner rear wheel of a corner as much as without it,
i am not saying it is a bad thing i am saying you will need to relearn hard cornering, you will be like wow this handles great, lets go faster, then faster, then faster then bam she lest go

I have to relearn it now since the front is different. I was used to the front end moving while turning, but with the new springs and huge sway bar it is really stiff into the turns.

Finalized my set of rims.
17x9 Mach 1 wheels with 245 fronts and 275 rears.
Now I just have to save up.
EDIT: Canceling the order for the sway bar.

there is not enough room between the ball joint and the fender,
17x8 is the widest that will fit and that is very tight
I am running 17x8's up front with 245x40x17's
and 275x40x17'x i nthe rear with 17x9.5 wheels i nthe reat
fronts rub the fenders on turns with a dip in them.
rears rub the new fiberglass fenders , but would not rub the stock ones

GOOD LUCK,
the only way you will make that fit is if you have the right backspacing and flare your front fenders, 65-66 and 67-68 is not even 1/2 inch difference on front fenders
and who says they will fit, because they will fit on the car, you just wont be able to turn or hit a dip.
also another note, you wont want to put 245 tires on 9 inch wheels you will pull the side wall and cause the tire to have a cupped middle,
the wife's mustang has 9 inch wheels on the front and has 245's i can show you if you want

I have seen a set with 245s. We have a set on 15x9s that were going to be put on my dads truck.
Wonder if a set of Chrome Cobra Rs would look good.

the inner circle is the 15" wheel, the outer edge is the 17's
if you want to try 245x40x17's you can try one of my wheels to see how it fits, i also have the 245x35x18's on the 97 you can try also if you want,
just trying to help you from making any errors just because thw other wheel fit does not mean it will cycle thru full suspension motion without rubbing or hitting.
