Bullitt Reloaded

2 Attachment(s)
Not sure if this has been on here before but this is MRTs retro Bullitt.
http://mrt-direct.com/concept/bullitt.htm

Increase the Caliber of your 2008-2009 Bullitt Mustang with MRT!!

The MRT “Reload” is a Limited Edition, serialized package that includes Improved Handling, More Power and Nostalgic Looks.

The MRT exclusive ’68 styled lightweight fiberglass hood is first thing you will notice. The flush mounted side window louvers, front lower grille inserts and satin finish billet fuel door provide subtle yet noticeable enhancements.

To finish the already stunning interior, the Reload comes with a numbered Bullitt shift knob to match your exterior color. Billet AC/Heater knobs add a touch of class.

The chassis portion of the MRT “Reload” Package starts with an effective system consisting of 3/4“ lowering springs to eliminate the wheel-well gap and reduce body roll. Billet aluminum rear lower trailing arms and adjustable panhard bar eliminate wheel hop. They also increase side bite by controlling rear axle movement without bind. To slow down the speeding Bullitt, MRT adds a set of cross-drilled and slotted brake rotors with high performance brake pads. This enhanced brake system also includes braided stainless brake hoses for a firm brake pedal feel. This system provides the Bullitt enthusiast more driving confidence without giving up ride quality!

The Bullitt’s firepower is increased with MRT’s system of Performance Camshafts, High Flow exhaust and a specific MRT Calibration that adds more power without giving any up drivability.

Start with a pair of performance camshafts that take advantage of the Bullitt’s stock 3.73:1 gear ratio.

Next, the exhaust is upgraded with an aggressive, deep sounding “American Muscle Car” tone from MRT’s proven Stainless Steel MaxFlow H-Pipe assembly.

The whole system is completed by a SCT X3 with a MRT specific calibration that does not affect daily driving

Only three things on your list that I'd be interested in .....

The MRT exclusive ’68 styled lightweight fiberglass hood (but only assuming that it comes factory DHG painted).

a set of 3/4“ lowering springs to eliminate the wheel-well gap ....

and the SCT X3 with a Bullitt specific calibration (but I have to wonder what that does to the Ford factory fuel sensing calibration system?)

the rest of the stuff is mostly just bling or "go-fast gear" that adds little to the `08 Bullitt experience.

please advise ~

Unfortunately it would likely be quite the trick shipping a painted fiberglass hood... you'd literally need to pack it in a wood shipping carton to minimize the risk of flexing the hood excessively and cracking the paint.

Murphy's Law dictates that the shipping carton, associated packaging, and freight charges would probably cost nearly as much as the hood!

Well considering there are black 08-09 bullitts I doubt that would happen.

I like the hood except for the line down the center. I know it was on the 67-68 hoods but it looks too pronounced for the S197.

You'll have to call MRT I'm just posting the info not associated with them. I think, like you most won't care for the bling, keep it closer to the original 68 Mustang. Like the hood and HP increases.

I agree that I would buy the hood if it comes already painted DHG. Shouldnt be a problem. We get hood through UPS all the time packed in foam and a cardboard box and 9/10 there are npo issues

At this point in time the parts don't seem to be for sale individually. The Reloaded package will cost (installed) $9300.
Haven't heard the price for the Hot Load package but since it adds a Paxton SC I would guess it will be over $15000.

I'm not sure how many people are going to be that interested in getting these packages?

i would venture to say that mrt best not stock their shelves with these kits:bad:...and they should go ahead and stock up on the hoods though.

LoudPony 7/30/08 08:16 AM

I wonder how the hood meets up with our cold air intakes under the hood?

Burke0011 7/30/08 10:49 AM

curious what the specifics are (brand) on their braking package......

j0eyabs 7/30/08 11:20 AM

maybe for an extra charge they will paint the hood before shipping

I'd rather have it painted locally and have it better color matched better to my car.

It's a pretty big part to ship painted and get zero damage to the finish.

I'll stab a guess the rotors for use with stock calipers are decelarotors.
The big kit may be from SSB

Does anyone know for sure who the vendor is for the Bullitt OEM shocks?

Don't know, but they'll be made to Ford specification.

Tokico makes or used to make a lot of Ford's shocks

Meh, I don't really care for it.

Jager 8/13/08 01:34 PM

I'm with you. Don't care for it and with all the recent trouble with MRT and a simple shift knob (look it up on the IMBOC site) I would be leary of buying anything from them.:poke:

Most of the advertising pics I saw from MRT sucked, IMHO, as far as the hood and louver fitment. So, we had one of the photochop experts do it the right way, on Karen's bullitt....I like the hood, but that's about it.....
