`08 Bullitt rear springs
Are these the same part number as all other S197 OEM rear springs or are they Bullitt specific?
thanks in advance ~ |
Not sure....
Take off your back wheel and write down the part number from the tag on the spring. Take it to the Ford dealer... Cheers. |

Supposedly Bullitt specific. There have been some differences in part numbers stamped on the springs from different people who have replaced their springs.
posting a picture here would be great too. :metal: |

great - so if anyone has their old rear springs just sitting around loose, I'd appreciate it if they could measure the length on one and give us the part number(s) ...
posting a picture here would be great too. :metal:

There was another thread where a few Bullitt owners changed springs and were comparing part numbers. There were differences between them. |
A HVBOM for your car should show the springs installed.

Where are you headed with this?? |

Where are you headed with this?? they are supposedly "unique" - at least according to the pre-sale Hype. while in fact there have been reports of parts/part numbers on certain cars that are inconsistent with other cars. this is a mystery that needs attention (IMO) and questions that need answers. I'm hoping that anyone who has removed these parts can be presuaded to go out in the garage and provide data on how their take-offs are marked. Frankly, I'm begining think that Ford pulled a fast one on this deal. :ohsnap: |
Well, since the Bullitt is not really lowered (6mm in back doesn't count), I would not expect the springs to be shorter than the GT. The extra muffler weight probably accounts for the 6mm.
I am inclined to believe we have GT springs with different shocks and struts, i.e. "special tuned suspension". The Bullitt is definitely stiffer. As Randy pointed out, the '01 Bullitt springs were definitely different. |
Any updates on this is there any advantage to switching to a bullitt suspension or would i be better with konis and ultra lites?

I have a Bullitt and I'm going to swap to the full Eibach Pro-S system as soon as I can - the stock suspension is rubbish as far as I'm concerned...OK at speeds up to about 65mph, but after that, very skittery and gets a lot of bounce at speeds approaching 95-100mph.
Went down the Autobahn two days ago and felt sea-sick after an hour because of all the bouncing around...It just doesn't damp out the minor bumps. The car also feels very unbalanced when turning in at speed... I bloody hate it. I think it needs to be dropped at least another 1 1/2" to be any good at all on roads over here. |
