If you go down to your local dealer, I'm sure he will let you pre-order one for a cool 15k over MSRP.

Don't feel sorry, it's not a dumb question. My post is just the reality of the situation. Unfortunately the dealers will mark this car up just like they did with the GT500. It's but it happens with every SE Stang and especially because this one is a Shelby.

StangFreak, I left a reply to your message in the other thread. My dealership doesn't add anything to the MSRP, nothing! If you (or anyone else in close area of SE PA) wants some info on ordering one of these, from a good place, and from a salesman who is a car nut himself (see my sig below ), I'll be happy to assist (once I get back from vacation this week, lol). We never marked up any of the GT Mustangs when they first came out. All were sold at MSRP, while everyone around us was anywhere from $2K to $10K over list. Not a good way to get repeat business if you ask me. This is why we have been in business for over 85 years.

Hi Jeff,

I would like to order a Shelby GT from you, ASAP at MSRP. Better yet, could you do a X-plan? It doesn't hurt to ask.

Please let me know the best way to handle my order.

Thanks,
Mike

Feel free to email me John. I'm on vaca this week, but get back from it on Monday. If your 1st option doesn't hold, keep me in mind. I hope we get some info soon, as I am getting a few requests for this car of here (which is a cool thing). Glad I can help.

All the Mustang GT's we sold, MSRP, when the were HOT, while all other dealers around us, an average of $6K over. I have markups. Glad I can help.

OOPS!! Double Post. Lousy wireless network here on vacation, LOL

I talked in great length yesterday with our Regional Rep.
He had Zero info on the Shelby GT. He also did not know when the order guides would be out.
BON has a new press release that says approx 10,000 units will be made and my rep did tell me it would be in an automatic and a 5-speed however just like Must Gt's the 5-speeds are short supply.

Eric, what stuff cracks you up, just curious. And question, how much holdback do you think is in a $30,000 Mustang?

Eric's a chevy guy. What do you expect? He's never had to pay MSRP, much less an ADM!! Chevy's never demand MSRP

I am just curious, Will Jeff do the x-plan on the Shelby GT (if ford allows) ? If so, I have an x-plan number and would be willing to put down a deposit.

PS: $30k Mustang's holdback is about $900 I would guess. Making that in a day is nice profit, IMHO.

You know, I really dont know for sure but Id guess around 3 percent. That makes it 900.00 on a 30K car. You guys can try to hold a straight face all day long and act like your selling gold bars but it wont hold water with me. Its just a car and you need to move it eventually. If the suckers bite then more power too ya. Ill talk to you when the new wears off and the rebates kick in.

And people wonder why most of us hate shopping for a new car. There are a lot of Ford dealerships in this country and Im never in a hurry. I guess Im a salesmans worst nightmare.

Laugh all you want but be reminded that the invoice on a base corvette is 39K and some change. By the time the shelby gets a blower God knows what it will be. All things being equal, Ill take the corvette. Ford and their greedy dealers are pushing the envelope here getting into corvette territory and they dont have the performance to back it up with.
