Well, it's nice to hear a writer appreciate this car. It's still not worth it money/parts wise, but the nostalgia calls me. I see one in my future...

IMO, the value of a car is not about the sum of the parts. The car has a certain character. The Mach 1s, BOSS, SVOs, Cobras all have their own image. So will the modern Shelbies, GT/CSs and Bullitts or even Roush, Saleen, etc. You can buy the parts and add them to a base GT for less money. You will end up with a really nice car that has its own character (modified GT). But, it will not have the same character or personality that the SGT (or insert any other SE Mustang) has.

I'd like to see the price a little lower. But we buy these cars for more reasons than simply dollars and performance numbers.

I agree, Crazyhorse. That's why I intend to get one anyway. I've got a pretty good offer on a new black 07 ($34.5k), which I would have jumped on a few months ago, but now I'm seeing blue. Vista, that is.
