The auto was always to have 3.55's. It's the manuals that they were considering putting 3.73's in. Has this changed?

Expect the Paxton Supercharger to be about $4500 and the brake upgrade to be $2000, so a fully loaded GT is pushing into GT500 territory. I personally think it will be worth it. It should be lighter, more mobile and, I think, more Shelbyesque!!
then add+ dealer gouge! In the august 21, 2006 issue of Autoweek, theres a article that Say's Shelby has contracted with Ford to build up to 10.000 units it will be interesting to see what unfolds in the market place.....

I'm assuming that has to be the base MSRP so now add $1220 if you want a premium edition (only adds leather & shaker 500), plus $460 for IUP, plus $325 for AAT, plus $380 for side air bags, (all common upgrades) and a "normal" Shelby GT would have an MSRP of $37980.

Now add in any Shelby options and you're easily looking at a $40K car without any ADM.

Also, a base GT costs $26,270 (with the $745 D&D), then add the $2,140 for the 54U Shelby upfitter package and it comes to $28,410. So the Shelby GT costs package $7,185? Is that correct?

I could be wrong but I thought they started with the GT premium rather than the GT deluxe. That would be $26,805 + $745 destination charge = $27550.

So what is the cost-benefit analysis of purchasing a Shelby GT vs a Mustang GT?

Add the upfitter package @ $2140 and we are up to $29690. $35,595-29180= $5905 for the Shelby GT goodies.

But then you have to take into consideration that most folks can get the Mustang GT at X-plan price (just go to blueovalnews.com and request a pin). So assuming that X-plan = Invoice i.e. $25,875

Subtract $500 for the current discount and the difference between an 07 Shelby GT and a 07 Mustang GT is $10,220.

Since the Shelby GT will have an additional 19hp (plus handling and cosmetic extras). That works out to $537.89 per additional hp.

So the question I've asked myself lately is would I rather have the Mustang GT and put $10,220 of goodies in it or would I rather have the Shelby GT. In the long run the Shelby GT is probably a better investment but this is only if you didn't modify it (to the point of not being able to return it to it's original condition)

Then there is the possibility of ADM.

I honestly don't know what you have to start with, Mark. I just never saw anything that said it HAD to be the Premium.

I thought that the options were going to be covered under the Ford warranty? I recall a few discussions on here about that. That was one of the attractive things about this to me. Of course it being a Shelby was important but the warranty was huge. I cant wait until we get positive info on this thing finally from Ford and pricing.

A draw for me as well. I hope we can get clarification on this soon.
