I think that it is pure economics. 6000 cars per year is 500 cars per month, 20 per day, 3 per hour, thats a lot of labor/storage/inventory for SA.

And remember, we are already well into the 2007 model year. I would think that if they make 6000 between Dec-through the end of the year, that projects out to about 10,000 per year if and when they make an 2008.

That's actually twice the rate that they were doing on the GT-H (10-11 per day)

Yes thats what everbody has to remember the Shelby GT isn't just rolling out of Flat Rock with Shelby emblems on it! like the GT500! these GT's are being shipped to Las Vegas Shelby's facility which is a fine facility but buy sure no Ford assembly plant! to be customized then shipped to dealers!! If production is 6000 or lower and bet it will be! the dealer mark-up on the Shelby GT will be very high! if you want and I do! get ready to get gouged!!!!

Nope, not getting gouged. I went out and bought a 07 GT for $500.00 under invoice. Said the h.... with all this dealer They can keep their special editions and mark ups. Personally I hope they all rot on their lots. (No offense to you Amy, I know it's not your fault and not some thing you can control. I'll have my Shelby one day.)

Amy,

Any update on when there will be a list of Shelby options that we can order from you, that is over and above what comes on the Shelby GT stock? Tell me you are going to offer the GT-h hood, and the ford racing whipple.......

Oh man just when I thought I had all my options figured out. My only concern is that the whipple will not work with the CS6 hood. I love that hood but really like a twin screw as well.

On a similar question there was a company called the Dream Car Factory that had an amazing hood that a lot of people on the site loved. It looked like one of the old Shelby hoods and I was wondering if there were any plans to offer future variety of hoods from SA. Something that would have the room for the Whipple under it.

Amy,
Since the hood has been brought up, (which looks great in person, BTW) are there any plans to come up with a way to drain the water from CS6 hood?

We did do something for a functional hood, its being tested now. I am not sure when we will finish it, but will keep you posted.

Amy, can you provide us with some insight on the Shelby GT hoodscoop? I've always found that an interesting piece. Will it be available separate?

The scoop is a nod to the Shelby cobra cars(not mustang). It is made off the original mold and widened. It will not be available separately, sorry.

Amy,

Will you be posting pictures of the new Shelby GT's arriving from Ford and going through the Shelby conversion on your Gallery page, with all the other pics so that we at home can all follow along with the build??

And I know this has been asked a million times, but there will be a date when there is one complete list of options for the Shelby GT, that we will be able to go through, correct? It just seems that there is bits of info all over the place, difficult to form a solid conclusion, ya know.

Again, thank you for being so "hands on" with all of us Mustang fans, we know your are busy......

Just got off the phone with someone at Shelby Auto with the following information. First, the MSRP of the Shelby GT, after Shelby does its things will be $35,595. The GT will come with 3.55 rear axles, not 3.73s.The options, both performance and appearance, will be above and beyond that and performance upgrades will be outside of the Ford Warranty. Expect the Paxton Supercharger to be about $4500 and the brake upgrade to be $2000, so a fully loaded GT is pushing into GT500 territory. I personally think it will be worth it. It should be lighter, more mobile and, I think, more Shelbyesque!!
