Shelby GT Apparently NOT Available In Canada
#22
I've also heard the Transport Canada won't allow cars to be shipped into Canada from anywhere other than their original manufactures. Since these cars would come from Vegas instead of Flat Rock, it's a no go.

Then how do they sell Saleens at the dealer up the road from me?

Canadian Saleens are converted in Quebec. They enter Canada shipped to Auto Pierre Brault Ford as a regular Mustang GT, then built by Saleen Canada. All Canadian Saleens have a "c" after the sequential number on the front bumper.
The bumpers do not pass the 8km requirements from Transport Canada, so they cannot be brought in directly. That is the same reason we cannot get a Saleen S7 in Canada.
It is not an issue that the vehicle not coming directly from Ford because the Shelby GT would be coming from Ford. In the U.S, they use a Ship-Thru set up, meaning it goes to Las Vegas for upfitting then on to the final destination dealer under the same shipping order.
