weird question

I know this may be a strange question, but any graphic designers out there know what font is used on the GT/CS stripe. I'm ordering a JLT CAI soon and was thinking about getting a stripe made for the intake tube. Also does anyone with a JLT know the length of the tube portion of the intake(painted portion). If I can't find the font I may just get the stripe kit(if it fits the length).

Thanks for the help.

Can you point me to a closeup? There are many possibilities as there are many type styles and it's very easy to modify them.

From a distance it looks like it might be a form of Eurostyle:

or Microgramma:

http://www.myfonts.com/fonts/urw/microgramma/

or perhaps a form of Bank Gothic:

I have some books in my office that might offer a clue. If you can supply a close up, I'll do some research.

Nope, but you both are Canadians. :jester:

I like your idea for the decal (pronounced DEE-KAL)

Is this close enough?
The letters are 1 1/4 inches tall and 2 inches wide.

Thanks. That helps.

I think this might be it...or real close:

korataki (Note there is an alternative "G" below as the first one is NOT a match.)

There are literally thousands of fonts out there. Plus, to make it difficult on us old typographers, it’s become very easy to create or modify them, which often makes trying to match type very challenging.

I think if you’re going to have the exact logo reproduced, your best bet is taking a good digital pic of it and provide that to whoever is going to cut the vinyl.

Thanks for the help davisinla, haha I used to know all of this stuff when I used to do graphic arts and typography prior to working in law enforcement. All I remember about typography now is the difference between serifs and sans serifs haha. The korataki looks pretty close though.

That's more than many people know.

I've been into typesetting for 30+ years. Check out my plates (very few people know what the California Job Case is...only old printers, like me ;))
