Tire Questions
I'm considering going with a wider, lower profile tire on my GT/CS. Either the245/45 or 255/55. The 255/55 is very close to the original diameter of the stock 235/50's...but it's rated for an 8" - 10" rim and given that our rims are 8" - would it make the sidewalls bubble? The 245/45 is a good fit for the rim - but overall diameter is approx. 3/4" smaller - so the speedo/odo would be off.
Anyone have experience with the 255/45's? PS I don't want to run a 40 as it would make the ride a bit too harsh for my personal taste. |

Nice look - that tread pattern reminds me of a set of Dunlop SP 9000's (IIRC) I had on my '00 GT a few years back - 2 of the 4 tires ended up splitting along that center tread and the sidewall tread at 19K miles - swore I'd never buy Dunlop's again. |
Sad I guess I made it in my order placed Oct 17 and recieved by Ford on Oct 24 but not yet a vin # grrr yet there were a couple other orders placed early August that have a build date of late november, so it would be neet to know how often that they do build cycles on the Mustangs and ot GT/CS's

Hard to tell - I got mine in 6 weeks and change and I've seen other's wait 4 months....good luck!! |
Yeh I'm trying to not think about it but then Kevin C mentioned that Love spat between Ford and the side scoop supplier holding up the show ? so any luck Christmas or January.

WIll this tire drop your ride height any? I noted that my GT/CS is about 1/2' higher than curbs/parking lot dividers. If it was any lower, I'd rip off the front spoiler parking.

GRRRRR Tires Just had to get one of my rear tires plugged because of a flat. What does everybody think of mismatch tires?? Thinking of going to a bigger size in the rear but they only make a 245 in my tire design. Thinking of going to Nitro and going to 265 but only replacing the rears now, maybe replacing the fronts next year. What do you think???? :dunno:
