A Sad Day

Today was a sad day as I put my '07 GT/CS under wraps for the winter and put my '65 convertible away in a storage unit down the road. I think it will be a long winter's wait to get them back on the road in the spring. At least the CS is in my garage so if there is a good day I can take it out for a ride, the '65 is up on jack stands so she will sleep until the salt is all off the roads & then I can bring her home where she belongs
.....Bring On Summer.....

Here you on that! Yesterday put the CalStang up on the jackstands after installing Seafoam preservative in the fuel system and running up and down the I-80 to get that stuff in all the injectors and around the spark plugs. Changed the oil and filter, polished and sealed all the painted areas and put preservative on the leather too. Installed the battery trickle charger, plugged the tail pipes, supported the wiper blades off of the glass and finally covered him up for the winter. Thankful to Ford for providing us with those Big Bad 4X4's with the winter coming here to Iowa!! :nice: "RC"

P.S. How do you like that very snazy looking Martha Stewart fender protector? She'll kill me for sure!

I know the feeling, I just put my motorcycle up for the winter. With draining the carbs, pulling the battery, etc, like your 65 its not going anywhere till march. That, with the differential going on my mustang, it was especially depressing because I can't have any fun for a while.

You can enjoy a vicarious session of road joy at least once a week, as your humble servant zips around the San Diego County back roads, w-i-i-i-ide smile on face as the (alternating) coupe and convertible do their happy-tire dance up and down the hills, through the curves and along the straights.

Check out Highways 76 and 79 and the Palomar Mountain County roads. M-m-mm. Dee licious.

I'm sure glad I don't have to pack my baby away for the winter!

I drive 1300 miles in about 8 weeks. And I don't even drive that much! Let that pony run! :nice:

1300 miles? Wow...I couldn't imagine not hearing my CS on a daily basis. It seems at 1300 miles that your car isnt even a Sunday driver :( Looks nice though

thanks... The picture was the day I came home from Ford in Dec 2006... I have mods now but need to update and take some pictures... I should drive more, its a sunny day holiday/weekend car, sits in garage :(... My little guy (8) already has a claim on it:salute: So with winter here, odometer should say at 1300 until spring......

Here is my car all tucked away in the barn. Sad day indeed.

You guys need to move, it's getting depressing in here. I was all ticked off I had to turn my heater on yesterday and today. It's not even going to get above 50 tomorrow (49), I hate the winter. Supposed to be back up around 65-70 in another week, I don't know if I can wait that long though. Maybe I should store mine until then as well. :rofl2:
