Performance Automatic Deep Aluminum Pan

My 5R55S now has a Filler Tube and Dipstick! Just finished installing Performance Automatic's deep sump aluminum pan and filler tube set.

Rick, sorry not to get back to you sooner, I was closing the cottage.

As you will see in the picture the filler/dipstick tube comes up beside the battery. Mine is pretty close to the battery. While looking up from under the car, I elected to install the filler tube between the body and the transmission cooler lines rather than between the transmission cooler lines and the block. If the filler tube is installed between the transmission cooler lines and the block it may be possible to move the filler tube a little further from the battery. However, I plan on rerouting the 5R55S vent to a transmission fluid expansion tank mounted on the firewall so I need the space.

In terms of extra fluid, my car is stall up on stands and I do not have the answer yet. The process I will follow is:
1. Refill the transmission with Mercon V fluid until the fluid shows on the dipstick.
2. Start the car.
3. Check the dipstick and add fluid as necessary to the full mark until the level stabilizes.
4. Sit in the car with foot on brake, move the shifter through the gears one at a time for a few seconds in each gear.
5. Check the fluid level and add fluid as necessary to the full mark.
6. Road test the car and recheck the fluid level.

I bought 5 Litres (Canada) of Mercon V to start with. A Canadian Litre is very close to your US Quart.

I also drilled and tapped the pan for an Auto Meter Transmission Temperature sender.

Hope this helps, but please do not hesitate to ask if you have any other questions.

Hi Scott,

I have the same PA deep pan with Dip-Stick.
Just did a service on my TCI Superstreet Fighter Trans.
I also have a Trans. Catch Can and mine is located under the front fascia.
Below is the link with pics. if you wish to check it out.
Might provide you with another option for your catch can for trans.

Terry, thank you for pointing me towards your Trans catch can configuration. Looks like you used a UPR Oil Separator? I just happen to have one of them. As far as your mounting position from what I can tell in your pictures it is beside the rad in front of your Steeda rad support. Is that correct?

Scott,

It sits right behind the Front Fascia.
You can just reach right up behind the front fascia and remove the bottom to dump excess collected fluid.
Here are all the Pics. that were taken of it.
Some by Brenspeed and some by me.
Hope this Helps.
